For the rate to be 30 percent, it means that this isn't just Black people raised around White people marrying out. That happens everywhere. At that rate, it is folks from Crenshaw and Inglewood, too.

I really hate saying this, but these stats are gassed by the relatively low marriage rate in our community. If you want to talk about who is coupled up with who in LA, I am sure it could be lower than 30% but chocolate couples aren't getting married at the rate we should.

I mean its a complex and loaded question. The simpliest explanation is that men and women have more options, so waiting for that unicorn from someone from the same background ain't happening. People mate with what their direct environment is composed.

For example its statistically easier to shoot your shot 10 pawgs then 10 black women you're attracted too.

But the real which you guys are looking for is, there's a lot of self and stereotyping of the other gender. Black women view a lot of bm as thugs from the jump, and black men think a lot bw are classless and ghetto.

A lot of educated black people suffer from inclusion, while working with non black's and think they're different. Blacks in LA who are educated or a bit more successful try to distance themselves from negative black stereotypes.

A non black partner can be seen as a social status symbol. That one is educated and successful because someone from another race wants to date them. Truth be told brothers with their shyt together get chased down by beckies.

Yeah LA (I've only been there briefly twice) seems like a bundle of contradictions. On one hands people tell me all non-Blacks are on some hard core low key or even overt racism out there. On the other hand Blacks there swirl heavier than anywhere else
