Yeah luckily that riser and everything associated with it was already built in so it made this job a lot easier. For the house being built in 06 they did a good job future proofing a few things, that small detail (and the in wall wiring already being there) were a coupon details. I won’t be using the pre built wiring though since it doesn’t join at the meeting point I wanted, there was also no real power going to the room so I had my electrician run a sub panel with dedicated breakers specifically for the theater room

I enjoyed the way them speakers is built in the wall. Fire… I had wiring already done up and had geek squad setup the surround.. been wanting the riser but I think I gotta pay a little change for it. bought the theatre seats but the riser makes that shyt look so much more like an official theatre. Props to you.

Def not cheap, need to get an independent amp to power them as my next upgrade I think. @Spence love the work you are getting into your setup though!

Im adding the govee t2 setup with some extra lights for the full effect.
I recommend as a start what I’m running which is the $250 pyle 8000ch. It will hold me over just fine until I swap out for marantz or emotiva they are just wayyy too out of budget for me right now.

I’m building my 128” screen as I type this 😂

Look up Chris Majestic, he was inspiration for the pencil point grey color for my room and has really good advice. He built his own riser too, it doesn’t look too difficult and you’ll gain a valuable skill and personal reward of diy

Updates:
Decided that since Netflix is getting rid of pw sharing it was time to get a real Black Pearl ready to sail the seven seas :myman:

Brain has been updated for a personal cloud server mated to a htpc (which is basically only serving as a web portal) running plex for remote access to all TV’s in the house now. Any movie or show I want is a 5 minute or less dl away :youngsabo:

Was able to sell my old JVC and upgrade to the native 4K VPL-VW Sony. I didn’t think it would be much of a difference but it is leaps and bounds brighter and better than the 56u jvc I had. The 600es retailed new for $19k in todays money, got it for $150 more than what I sold the jvc for which was older :heh:

Star ceiling mounts have been put in place, new King Boo neon which I think I like better, and the LCR’s that need to go into the wall along with new dark carpet then I’m taking a pause. I think the only other things I can really do is just swap out components for better/more expensive equip after that. :manny:

I bought KEF LSX II speakers on sale. You have to use app to set them up and it’s awful.

I hardly ever return things, but I’m sending these things back. The whole user experience is terrible.

In walls? Why would you need an app for…..speakers? :heh:
