i dont think 2pac had been very consistent tbh... He had plenty of skippable tracks on his albums, but hes got so many classic, high impact songs throughout his catalog it really covers up that fact. I really only consider one of pacs albums to be a classic as far as quality. I think both nas and 2pac have suffered from poor beat selection at times, but both are the only MCs would could spit on a very mediocre beat and still make it a great song. i dont think theres a question nas is the better lyricist, but pac had such a great passion and energy where he could just make u feel him no matter the subject matter.

Overall i give it to nas. His longevity man... And to make an album this good in his 18th year, man thats like a dude in the nba winnin the scoring title in his 18th season.

Jayz has an argument for goat but i still think nas has it. Biggie has no argument imo... He only released two albums while he was alive and life after death had lots of filler. u cant be goat for two albums. Who can say if he wouldve had the same longevity as nas or jay ? Maybe but i really doubt it. Just my opinion

Pac is easily one of the most consistent rappers ever, prolly with Ice Cube and Scarface. Arguably, he's the only one who got better and better with each album (even if you can shuffle your order of preference of his last 3 albums according to personal taste).

Agreed. People try to quantify music (record sales, # of classic albums/songs, # of albums) in attempts to legitimate arguments that some music is superior to other music, but it's all subjective as fukk.

Can't pick a GOAT in sports, either. Too many variables and criteria. shyt ultimately devolves into subjectivity as well.
