A couple points:
1) It's hard to say that anyone is the GOAT because of all the different era's in hip-hop but if you had to choose then the only contenders are Nas, Jay-Z & 2Pac really.
2) Everyone has there own opinion and criteria when it comes to measuring an MCs greatness but I believe it is possible to put your own feelings to the side and be subjective and break it down categorically by acclaim, commercial relevance, creativity etc.
3) I don't buy into the argument that because Jay-Z doesn't release tracks like 'Can I Live' or 'Where I'm From' that he's fallen off lyrically.
He still shows enough flashes of lyrical genius from time to time to show he still has the skills but he's in a whole other lane to Nas at the moment and where Nas places the greater emphasise on critical acclaim it's quite obvious that album sales are much more important to Jay-Z.
