Its all opinions Nas is my fav, but you can't get mad when someone thinks Pac, Jay, Ra, or Kast is the GOAT.
Yes, you can.

I KNOW y'all gonna be mad, but I don't think Pac is a top 3 MC.
I just don't think he had the mic skills Jay, Nas, Big and them had...He was very talented, and a good rapper, I just think he had quantity...volumes and volumes of work. I just feel that the quality was spotty. Not to say he didn't have fire shyt...
I guess y'all gonna label me as a "Jay Stan" but i listen to EVERYBODY, and try to be as fair as possible (but Hov my man tho lol)
BIG took from Nas, Pac took from Nas, Jay-Z took from Nas... Not just a sample I mean concepts, ideas, creative angles TAKEN from this nikka
He's the goat
I know Pac to the concept from one of his illest songs from Nasir. The Outlawz admitted this in 2002
Nas >
Man stop with the hyperboles.
You cant tell me that Jay-Z hasnt made good music since the Black Album.
American Gangster might be better than Life is Good let alone Watch the Throne. And I aint even tryna show my in-stan-ity right now I'm being fair.
Damn near every verse Jay has put out since So Appalled has been fire.
I'm sorry, I have to disagree. I STILL feel Hov is the better artist. Again, my opinion, but i knew soon as I first heard Jay it was a wrap. I have no probs with y'all sayin Nas da goat but I just can't agree. Minus one or two albums EVERYTHING Hov put out has been GREAT. They've all used influences from each other and other rappers so it's a bit of a draw that way...
I just feel like Jay has been hated b/c he was a bit more mainstream, but the man is a monster y'all got him in here sounding like he'd be nothing without Nasir the "goat" FOH...Hov BEEN that dude...Reasonable Doubt is tied with Illmatic to me...just my $0.02 tho
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk, ya dig?
aint even close. when all the dust settles and that luxury rap looks like the dumbed down at the moment shyt it is in 20 years we're gonna be left with nas and pac as the voices of the past generation and a half.
There isn't a GOAT.
Pac/Nas/Hov.
Take you pick depending on the concept you're going for or the style of song you want. Nas has the most insecure fans on the internet though. It's like you guys feel the need to validate yourselves through him every chance you get. About 5 people heard Distant Relatives. I'm a borderline Nas stan and even I didn't want to bother with that.
I haven't heard Life is Good yet, but it sounds like he finally got his ear for music back. Nothing is more overrated on here than Untitled and I still play it. The worst thing about Nas fans is that they think everything he says is gospel so when he raps with a monotone flow over even worse beats they go crazy for it because they think he's spitting "truth." He does a lot of the time, but not always. Just because a song has a message doesn't mean it's executed well.
His execution has been inconsistent until this run of the last 18 months or so. shyt like "Who Killed It" was terrible. But then "Let There Be Light" would be really good. I wonder if some Nas fans remember that music is supposed to be listenable. His shyt has been uneven since Street's Disciple.
And this post right here is why I wonder how I'm a Nas fan sometimes. It's like you guys live in another fukking galaxy. Nas is not the voice of shyt. This is the problem lol. Nas fans are like the douchebag underground rock fans that they they're so much more sophisticated than anyone else.
I love Nas' music, but you guys are on another galaxy. Half the reason people still give Nas his props is because he's not all the way mainstream so he's not a "sell out." How in the world can someone be the voice of a generation 20 years later? Do you know how ridiculous that sounds? Only a Nas stan would somehow state that Nas will become recognized as the voice of a generation after the fact. You are or you aren't. The rappers who love Nas the most who are mainstream: J. Cole and Lupe, take a back seat commercially to the guys who claim to be influenced by Jay-Z (they lost their way) --> Drake, Wayne, and one point TI and Jeezy.
He's a legendary rapper, but stop it. It's like you guys who think Pac was going to be Malcolm X.
You're my homie, but stop. There's nothing mediocre about Volume 1. Volume 2 is only wack nowadays because the beats are dated.
