The fact is that being appealing across multiple segments is what it takes for the kind of mainstream success on the level of Hogan, Austin, and Rock. A bunch of skinny dorks will never look impressive to the average Joe and aren't bringing in new people. Never have, never will. They're necessary to have a great, full card but they'll never move the needle beyond the people who watch the show every week no matter how shytty it is. As a matter of fact, I'd argue having an amazing look and great stories are even more important in a post UFC world that it was before.
