The Network is proving that to be wrong :sadcam:

128k unsubs in the first 6 months :sadcam:

Vince is at least smart enough to try and stop the bleeding (budget cuts)

Bischoff would have thrown more money at it
they made money off the PPV.

What's wrong with a company giving fans something for free for a change?

the bikers weren't fans though:laugh:

It wasn't low budget. If anything, it showed WCW had money to burn. Bischoff set the whole thing up so he could have a great weekend/ride across country and get the company to pay for it. :pachaha:

That said, it was dumb.

I mean in a shortsighted, ridiculous mindset kind of way in terms of low budget. Can you imagine say, HHH going to Vince and going, lets have a PPV for thousands of teens at bonnaro? :dead:

They never made shyt off those shows. They let 8-10k bikers in for free. And the buyrates for those shows always sucked. It was just an excuse for Eric to hang out for a week

so that angle with Leno didnt bring any ppv orders and media attention?

Personally, I was no WCW fan during that time, but to say they never made anything is questionable

It was common knowledge that the road wild and WW3 PPV were the lowest drawing every year for WCW. They lost money doing those shows. Plus that was when Rodman wrestle at BATB the month before. People weren't going to double dip for another celeb match, esp if it was Leno when Austin/Taker were wrestling that month(they did 800k)

having that Jay Leno match at Road Wild was fukking retarded. All this media attention to do a match at a ppv that doesn't have a gate :mjlol:

how was WW3 a flop every year?

Trash concept(3 ring royal rumble where the "winner" supposedly gets a shot but half the time never got it or got it on some irrelevant show) plus it was a month before Starrcade. The same way how those old IYH feb PPV never drew before mania.

Even when Dubya Cee Dub had more money than WWF, they were always more low budget, if that makes sense.

having leno in the matchw as a worse idea.

wcw wasn't a wrestling company, it was a tv company. gates at shows didn't mean as much to them as it did to the E because all they cared about was advertising dollars/ratings and ppv buys (ppv a SEPERATE company from WCW meaning none of the money wcw made in PPV even went tp their company)

long story short wcw was all fukked up but having road wild wasn't the WORST IDEA theye ver had... wasn't jay leno at that one.. that's worse and on the same card at that.

wcw is filled with stu[id decisions. how bischoff was seen as a good executive is crazy... no one has blown more opportunity and money...

bisch basically let Hogan run his own career which ran half of wcw and he sunk the rest.

did no one at Turner realize "hey, eric just takes vinces big stars and runs with it.. I can do that"... I mean really... they musta been so fed up with them rednecks that ran them for so long they were dying for a McMahon type and got screwed.lol

I wonder how many seats, and potential sales of those seats, they had to sacrifice to make space for those rings???

looks cool but thats about it
