I watch football, basketball, hockey, soccer,etc and I've grown up playing three of them(not ice hockey).
I do, as well as many others I know make fun of how soft a lot of basketball players and soccer players act. jokes made with whites and blacks alike.
at face value, I don't see any racism in the op. and I agree with it and thought it was funny.

Don't be disingenuous. I'm not saying all NBA players are black. They aren't. there are mixed, white, black, and asian players in the league. My point is that white fans of the hockey variety generally see the NBA as being heavily black involved because of the number of nikkas on the court and how they appear, as the Republican representative clearly indicated. I have seen an astounding number of racist and borderline racist comments by hockey fans. That one black dude from Montreal is constantly harassed by hockey players, fans and commentators. When you challenge their assertions it comes down to his supposed "behavior and demeanor". That's just codeword for being black. Hockey fans and others routinely deride the NBA for having "thug" culture .
