I have no problem with Hockey but I don't like a portion of their fanbase that goes out of their way to attack the NBA/NFL because they can't stand to see a league dominated by blacks making millions.

Same goes for certain people who love watching broke black kids playing in college because it's "pure" but won't support the pro leagues when those kids start making money.

Not all of them are like that but there are some people who are so obvious with their racism.

You wanna bring attention to your sport so the masses could see the type of athletes they have, cool im all for it. The whole idea of putting down another sport to prop up your favorite sport is stupid to me. I enjoy baseball and I even enjoy watching hockey and soccer every now and then. They all are entertaining in their own right. NASCAR on the other hand

Why do hockey fans always compare basketball and hockey? I think hockey is a good sport for the people who enjoy it, but why do hockey fans have this obsession with basketball that borders on absurd? One can only guess.

It is a jealousy or bitter fan type thing. Hockey is considered a joke in america, gets no coverage from ESPN and is an all around misunderstood sport. Most hockey fans see the abundance of coverage the NBA gets on ESPN, and the obsession the media has with singular players over the teams in general and it pisses them off.

Im not gonna say it has absolutely nothing to do with race, i will however say its mostly just an inferiority complex and the vast differences in the cultures of NBA and NHL makes BBall an easy target for hockey fans
