It's not just Street. We got Boyd, Byrd, and Briscoe showing out in camp so far. We're going to eventually cut a really good receiver.
Yeah but after Street you're talking about no. 5 receivers. Dez, Williams, Beasley and Street are locks. After then, we just gotta hope someone makes the practice squad

Here are some quick hit observations from CN.

http://cowboysnation.com/2014/08/co...al&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

Below are reflections, observations and a few questions that have surfaced as we approach the first preseason game.

  • The team as a whole is transitioning to a much more physical approach.
  • Penalties will be heavy in preseason as the Cowboys search for their aggressive balance.
  • Competition across the board is more intense and widespread in 2014.
  • Tell me I did not read that Jerry Jones sent out playoff ticket options? No, really. I want you to tell me.
  • ‘Boys continued search at DE speaks volumes.
  • Dallas is wanting to be able to rotate LB snaps in wave fashion as well.
  • Dan Bailey is the same. Money well spent.
  • If Ben Bass can stay on the field he will be a factor.
  • Cole Beasely looks like a veteran who has found a home.
  • Mackenzy Bernadeau is playing like a starter.
  • Chris Boyd can block and catch and is in the mix.
  • Dez Bryant is better. Let that sink in.
  • LaRon Byrd is Making Plays.
  • Brandon Carr’s return will add more pressure to highly competitive CB battles.
  • Bruce Carter is ready for the next test – Game Day.
  • Barry Church is solid, unless he is facing Zack Martin.
  • Morris Claiborne is taking it to a new level.
    Can he stay healthy?
  • Tyler Clutts is here to battle J.C. Copeland. He is winning at this point.
  • Davon Coleman has flashed and is battling.
  • J.C. Copeland skill set is obvious but needs to stay on the field.
  • Tyrone Crawford is still recovering but looks good.
  • Ahmad Dixon is looking at Special Teams to make final cut.
  • Lance Dunbar is everything he is supposed to be.
    Can he stay healthy?
  • Justin Durant is LB corps Sterling Moore.
  • Gavin Escobar has arrived.
Will Linehan use him on Game Day?
  • Travis Frederick is better.
  • This will be another good Doug Free year.
  • Ben Gardner needs to get on the field.
  • Jakar Hamilton has talent to be a weapon on defense.
  • James Hanna is blocking exponentially better.
    Will Linehan use him?
  • Dwayne Harris will have another good year.
    Will his ankle heal quickly?
  • Nick Hayden is the standard. Will he start or be over taken.
    Measuring stick alert!
Will Haydens position in the rotation define where the defensive line is in regards to last years group?
  • Jeff Heath is better than last year. Looks like he’s in the rotation unless Dixon can step up.
  • Anthony Hitchens is not ready to start at MLB. He will be one day and can hit!
  • DeVonte Holloman can play all three positions at a high level.
  • Matt Johnson is impressive when he plays and it’s clear why the organization has been patient. He gets healthy or gets cut.
  • DeMarcus Lawrence looks to have the predicted skills.
Will he be effective late in the season after missing invaluable camp time?
  • Injuries have kept OG Ron Leary out of the equation (so far).
  • Cowboys are looking at all options in order to deal with loss of Sean Lee.
  • Ben Malena has a chance to be part of the equation.
  • Rolondo McClain looks like he came to camp to play. Needs conditioning and has to show up in preseason games. Big man who is a HARD hitter, he should start.
  • Zack Martin is another home run for the offensive line and looks better as a rookie than Smith did.
  • Terrell McClain is a force from the 1T or 3T position.
Can he stay on the field?
  • Henry Melton is the best player in the defensive line rotation.
  • Jeremy Mincey has turned it on and can be a factor from the weak side.
  • Terrance Mitchel is looking like a draft day hit.
Need to see him in a game.
  • Sterling Moore is being pressed (again) for a roster spot this year.
  • DeMarco Murray is very sharp.
Do I even have to add the part about staying healthy?
  • Jordan Najvar is a wild card who keeps showing up.
  • Jamar Newsome is in the WR conversation.
  • Amobi Okoye needs to get on the field.
  • Jeremy Parnell and Weems are not doing bad, but not stepping up.
  • Tyler Patmon may be playing his way into the CB conversation.
  • Ronald Patrick is looking like he can play center.
Will be a numbers game w/Game Day production next step.
  • Dashaun Phillips has shown flash but has a big hill to climb to make it into serious contention.
  • Joseph Randle is locking down the RB3 roster spot.
  • Tony Romo looks loose and in good shape.
How healthy is he? Can he stay healthy?
  • Orlando Scandrick has quietly had another quality camp leaving the competition for being on the team next year between Carr and Claiborne.
  • George Selvie is for real and looks locked in on the strong side. Enjoy!
  • Keith Smith is for real.
Can he turn it up a notch and not get caught in the numbers game?
  • Ryan Smith is looking like a practice squad steal if Dallas can get him there.
  • Tyron Smith is dominating and looking at a probable first team All Pro season.
  • Will Smith flashes when on the field.
    Can he stay healthy?
  • Anthony Spencer looks every bit as healthy as Jay Ratliff did last year at this time.
  • Devin Street hasn’t blown up yet, but is making consistent plays.
Can he keep it up? Can he step it up?
  • Dustin Vaughn is a fine camp QB but not the future.
  • Recently released L’Damian Washington is VERY raw but will be signed by another team due to his size/speed ratio. If not, he will be brought back.
  • B.W. Webb came ready to compete this year. Physicality on display.
  • Brandon Weeden is the real deal insofar as showing his skills in camp.
Can he perform in this offense come game time?
  • John Wetzels ability to play well from the inside and outside is quickly putting him into the offensive line equation.
  • Kyle Wilber looks excellent on the strong side and is also getting snaps at WDE since Lawrence went down.
  • J.J. Wilcox is showing up quite well in camp.
What will he look like when the games start?
  • Ryan Williams has been solid, needs to step up.
  • Terrance Williams is a student of the game and has improved.
How will he be used in the Linehan offense?
  • Martez Wilson is looking like he will be a factor come game day. Perhaps a serious one.
  • Jason Witten is one Senator you don’t want term limits on.
How many targets will he lose to Escobar?

Oh yeah Claiborne sat out of practice AGAIN. This dude milks his injuries like nobody else.

Also, after practice Charles Haley and Larry Allen spoke to the team. Hopefully they gave them a reality check about what franchise they play for.

I miss having these bullies on the team.

While reading that CZ report, I'm :shaq: at all the positives.

Until I realize that virtually everything said about every player is a positive :upsetfavre:
^^^^ I shouldn't have read that. Now I have some optimism. They got me again :upsetfavre:
lol yeah it was a little overboard. especially the stuff about webb. he's getting burned all over the field.
