History always repeats itself. A $80K house in San Diego in the 80s was considered a housing crisis.

Ok, let me give you an anecdote. I live in a pretty diverse city, over 50 sq miles that has significant wealth, significant poverty and everything in between.

There is a section of town originally known for its Italian immigrants who have long since left which fell out of favor and disrepair.

Beginning in the very early 2000's, a new group of immigrants has moved, brought new life to the neighborhoods, businesses and bought these old homes to live in and raise their families.

So I am wondering why wouldn't/couldn't 'native' Americans seen the value here and done the same? These people didn't even speak English and this is solidly their place now.

My city has a bunch of these neighborhoods waiting for people to reinvest in within miles of other people making $$$ and it makes no sense to me.

Not trolling and reply as wish, I have said my piece.
Where is black people getting this money from to do this, and that still doesn’t answer the job market question

Mexicans who are generally speaking (at first) doing barely better than black people economically have done the same thing he's talking about in several cities/neighborhoods across the country. They're economically disabled and alot of them tend to literally not even be able to speak English, yet they're boosting themselves up economically/ socially and politically. Why can't black people do the same?

That was called gentrification in 2019, it's now called "infill development" because everyone discovered Urban Planning during the pandemic.

Ask yourself this,

Where does the money come from?

Where does the money come from to buy the undeveloped plots, under-developed plots, and the disheveled housing?

Ask yourself another question,

Who owned the land prior to these developments?

And finally

In the context of cities of MILLIONS of people having a housing crisis,

How many people are being housed in these new developments?

That's what the post is about, not new coffee shops and cute eateries.

You know I wasn't even referring to a specific group of people moving into these forgotten neighborhoods, just ANYONE! The infrastructure is already there. I f$#king hate driving by new developments with so many neighborhoods left behind with these great old houses that just need some TLC and maintenance.

On the subject of immigrants though, I suspect these folks are moving and living together as full family units and that opens up possibilities

This is why I tell dudes to buy as much property as they can NOW. Your children/grandchildren 40 years from now will be grateful that you did. Things are just going to get HARDER not EASIER.

French Revolution 3.0 gonna come around and kill the landlords that you inspire to be :unimpressed:

Or 3D printing houses gonna come in. Either way, your grandkids gonna outnumber the actual real estate that you can purchase, thus bringing back this issue to square one. Bloodshed must happen against greedy landlords.

They live like 7+ in a space for 3 to save money. I can’t even convince you nikkas to vote, but you expect me to find people to live in squalor with me with me in a cheap neighborhood with no job market to save money?

I had a professor (looked like :skip:) state their opinion on this about a decade ago.

Dude seemed real pissed people were doing this "because it affects the local services, you're cheating the system and taking money away from public services!"

Same public service cops and politicians that can't do their job for shyt?
Same broken ass public education school system that clearly puts money in people's pockets instead of investing in educational quality?

Like man, this guy of all people shouldn't be talking about "cheating the system". The system was dang near made for people like them as they constantly break and rebuild this system to cater to them while everyone else got to be clever to get their's.

That was a smart play if you ask me because they now have a house, maybe now houses, to their name while that dude probably still rompin' around whining.

Hispanics and Asians do this and it’s very smart.
Pile into one house and everyone is able to buy their own house in like 2-3 years.

It’s not hard to establish yourself in America if you’re willing to do things like that. If you and your family aren’t individualistic you can come up real quick in this individualistic society :manny:

Yup. People really do work best when they work together. Collaborate not compete.

Like that cat said though, it's so difficult to get people on the same page, but when you got a good plan and people buy into it :wow:

Get mad at me.. BLACK PEOPLE ARE RUNNERS!!!

My family home in Inglewood my parents had since the 70s value has enormously increased, as well as the other black people on the street who own they homes, since the rams and now the clippers moved to the city..the money they can get for it now is ridiculous

A lot of Black people in the 80s and 90s had a great opportunity to own homes in the neighborhoods and come together to fight off the criminals in our communities and build and own our homes, at a decent price, but as usual we run from our communities and run from the problems and don’t come together to get rid of the trash and build up our own businesses and we go straight to these white neighborhoods

The people who know how to work on/restore these homes are going to buy em for cheap, move in together and fix them up one by one, refinance/sell them when they learn the system and make bank.

That’s what Hispanic folks have been doing.

This is where experienced blue collar men step in and rebuild/maintain neighborhoods.

Imagine black plumbers, electricians, roofers, landscapers, contractors, etc working on some homes together? Get those houses together for the low, sell and split the profit?

White woman in my office- her hubby is a carpenter. Remodeled a few rooms in the home and took his sweet time. She was pissed at how long it took, but showed us the final pix. I was like “Wow, he could charge a good penny if he was doing this on the side” and she said “yes I know, he’s just too lazy to do it”.

There’s money in the trades and brehs could come together to fix up some of those properties, live in them or sell them.
That’s exactly what others are doing :manny:
