Did anyone mention that there's more than a few acts that are using chat GPT for lyrics & songs now ?

this only applies if kendrick doesn’t respond…

the fact that a mf that got pissed on by one of TI’s patnas (and didn’t do shyt but get up and walk away upset), punched by diddy, seeded up a chick in a 3-some (allegedly) and got bullied into claiming his kid, got treated like a flip by rihanna and publicly simped for her, got exposed for having other artists write his raps, has questionable relationships wit young women, paints his nails, and is the only mf that got his panties in a bunch over the control verse is touted as the GOAT is a disgraceful time in hip-hop…with that yachty reference track this nikka’s entire discography is in question to me…

drake convinced mfs that if you don’t listen to his music you don’t get p*ssy and mfs crafted their whole identity around that…

it’s ironic this is the most non-p*ssy getting generation in history smfh…

Cats let p*ssy and hoes control their actions on some simp shyt.

Another thing that caused rap music to go downhill was street dudes being allowed to infiltrate the genre en mass.

Creativity and skill were pushed aside for "realness" and tough guy posturing, which led to the super thug era filled with legitimates and posers alike, which dumbed it down.

The irony is that while the street dudes became revered, they -- back then and to this day -- merely view rap as a hustle, not as an art form.

Cats will swear that someone like Maino a better rapper than Method Man SMH. Legit street dudes cannot rhyme for shyt, bullying everyone to listen to their basic bars on a stale trap beat.

Autotune is NOTHING like the talk box, fam.

Teddy Riley made sure to point this out mad times. Auto-tune is for people who can't sing. They're using it to pitch correct in hopes of making themselves sound decent and more melodic in delivery, vocally.

The talk-box works by actually PLAYING an instrument at the SAME TIME and turning what you're playing, whether it's melodies or chords, into words that you're trying to say. It's basically using your instrument as a voice. You can't do that, if you don’t know how to PLAY an instrument. You need to know how to have both vocal skills AND the ability to play an actual instrument in sync.

They are not the same, or extensions of each other.

You one of those oldschool guys who argues digital vs analog aren't you?

Its a different process to achieve the same goal.

I don't care if your beating a pad or got chops with sticks; a dope beat is a dope beat.

I've never been one of those elitist musicians......

Another one of “hip hops” biggest stars:snoop:

His set was trash. Just doing dumb shyt everytime the DJ drops a beat. Some Cacs I was camping next to even told me his music wasn't good but Uzi kept them entertained with the antics . Dude wasn't trying to rap, just dance around for an hour.

Tyler The Creator gives me hope though . Had arguably the best set this past weekend. Even brought out Earl Sweatshirt. :lawd:

The problem is that he's still held regard as a serious Emcee!
This issue shouldn't just be given the "Well, it's just their opinion" take because this narrative has been live and well throughout the decade. His lane was a Pop rapper, cool, but now he's a gangster rapper and Hardcore Emcee? This shouldn't be controversial to any casual hip-hop fan, but it is.
You can't control other people. You only can control yourself. Say he's a pop act and not an MC fine. To his fans and people who grew up with him you just coming off like an old bitter hater and they will put even more esteem on his name. It's counter productive. Our time has past it's time for a new generation. They not taking our opinion seriously. Sorry to break to you.

How can you make an obvious bad comparison, get called out on it, then act like it's not a big deal?

I've made several posts already.

What bad comparison are you even talking about? I keep it fair; or at least try 2.

This has been occurring forever in music across all genres.

Music is constantly evolving and changing.

there are always people resistant to change.

I already said it earlier that people have been saying hip-hop is dead since the 90s.

this isn't some new concept.

people get old and see shyt thru rose tinted lenses.

if shyt stayed stagnant and "pure" everyone would be rapping like melle mell still.

I just don't agree at all I eat off plenty of good music dropping.

I stay making threads showing love and I'm harsh and hate on shyt I don't like.

Ya'll go out of your way to pump up threads of the most mainstream commercial shyt yall despise so much.

A lot of people on this coli actually make music or are involved in the industry.

check out @FruitOfTheVale he just released a new track.

Hip-hop can not die and will not die.

If people outgrow it I understand that 2.

2 each his own.

This here.

Staying ignorant is the way for a lot of these dudes today. They don’t have any issue with just posting mad false sh*t. And like you said, even after being informed on what they were posting, they just keep doubling down. So this isn't about learning anything for these people. They don’t want to learn. They want to either show how salty they are with you for speaking on something factual, or they want to debate on nothingness that's not even based in fact.

This level of dumbness is what Hip Hop has become. It's on full display in threads like this. You just gotta give up on these dudes.

Artists from the '80s, '90s, and early '00s did it for their love of the culture and the people.

Selling records, making money, and getting famous was just a plus to them. They made classic albums, songs, etc because they wanted to carve out their legacies in Hip-Hop.

Even when rappers did beef back then, a lot of it was due to wanting to be the best. That competitive spirit most of the time was out of love for the genre which at times further served as motivation to make the best (original sounding) music possible and that's why so much great music was released back then because it derived from their love of the culture.

Many of these rappers and artists today don't care about the meaning of Hip-Hop culture let alone exhibit that same love and gratitude for the genre...they just use the genre to make money and gain clout/fame (similar to a vulture) which has led to the genre's downfall because no love or care is being put into the music.

Hip-hop had a soul (and a heart) back then, it's gone now.

I didn't say it was the same.

They're both tools on a belt.

I don't understand how u can shyt on people for using auto tune when you're bigging up the talk box.

Jay-Z going at auto tune was the dumbest shyt ever.

Everyone and their mother has used auto tune who sings since forever.

Its been a part of all genres since inception.

If you cut a tree down with a chainsaw or an axe there is no difference other than the axe is primitive and requires more work.

At the end of the day the chainsaw and axe serve the same purpose......CUT THE TREE DOWN

Fam if you just want an echo chamber of co-signs just say that and I'll stop.
