keep it a brick i'm always a little bit uncomfortable with the real hip hop label. maybe because i notice that dope artists like UGK, Three Six, Do Or Die, Twista & Killa Cam are never really put in that category. kind of a regional thing but mostly a sub genre thing. like for instance Mystikal & Jay Elec from the same city but only one gets classified as real hip hop and yall know who

anyway i LOVE The Roots b i ain't even gon hold you:lawd:

It's ironic because UGK (well, just Pimp C) dissed the Roots' "What They Do" and pretty much :pacspit: backpackers and purists basically saying "ya'll can have ya'll real Hip Hop, we make Country rap tunes".

Bunch of sell outs. Cac wrote the check and they been shuking and jiving ever since

Stop it b

They have steady income coming in and great exposure on NBC

plus it's great to finally see a all black house band on live TV

Even arsenio band wasn't all Black

lol Chad was no fool. he knew the general perception of him and his music by anybody who uses the term real hip hop. because common sense urges him to ask well what's fake hip hop? and historically speaking that's been bouncy country rap featuring vocals with thick, syrupy southern drawls

though my nikka KRIT broke that mold but exception doesn't swallow the norm

TYRONE GA!
They discography is real up and down

Roots got albums I think are classic and then albums I don't like at all

Big Roots fan and the last couple of joints haven't resonated with me as much as the previous. Everything up to HIGO was my shyt. And Thought is Top 10 skillwise.

As far as "they", the only consistent members are Thought and Questlove. Losing Malik full time, Rahzel, Len Hubbard, and Kamal kinda sucked though. Lost their "soul". Dice still my nikka and is a good change up on the studio albums.

And they are mainstream now with the Tonight Show. Hoping their next album will be good though, but without the earlier core members, it'll never be what it once was.

nikkas went from

to this
:hhh:

I don't see the problem

Because working alongside white people don't make you a C00n in my eyes

Like I said thier gainfully employed

I'm proud of them

I'd rather them getting that steady check on NBC then struggling to get gigs at some random dive bar or playing for tips in the subway

They good

They have a great situation

Especially when they are basically independent contracter workers

They have leverage

Now what do you do for a living that makes YOU THINK YOU ARE BETTER THAN THEM?

Never said that made them sellouts. They flipped the script and did a 180. That what makes then sellouts. Went from a black conscious band to

And when did i say i’m better than them? To answer your question I own and operate a tractor & trailer (18 wheeler).
