Bruh listening to it I can't believe how you were shytting on the Houston Texans like they are some bum ass squad. I don't like them btw, I like the Raiders. But Houston won their division last year and made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs despite some KEY injuries to some of their best players. And they would've beat the Ravens if Matt Schaub played, no doubt.

I can understand you saying the Ravens are better, but the Steelers? :comeon: They lost to the fukking Tebows last year. The Steelers are :flabbynsick:

For what it's worth on ESPN's preseason power rankings, they have the Ravens #4, the Texans #6, and the Steelers #8.

steelers at 8 :scusthov:

i dont think houston has the experience to make it all the way... the steelers have been there done that. Ben is still a clutch QB, they still have one of the best defenses, and one of the best, if not the best, defensive players at any position in Troy.

Pittsburgh will be there when the dust settles. they're bouncing back this year.

I think he was just joking about the three senators. No one who was a political science major who expounds in great detail on all these economic theories actually thinks that there are 3 senators.

Gundam and Sly both did a good job. They made alot of good points that everyone else conveniently avoided addressing.

It's easy to get lost on the fly and forget details...it happens to all the politicians...everyone gaffes sometimes

speak on it breh :shaq:
Basically everything you mentioned about science not studying is false. I can drop study after study, about the research being done on consciousness, especially in the field of neuroscience. Best believe there are people, currently working on navigating the origins of consciousness, on a mathematics, computer science, and metaphysical level.

Honestly, your curiosity would probably make you a great scientist, if you used the scientific method. Just going off of philosophical alignments is nothing but trouble. In past like Gundumb mentioned, many people have been persecuted for using logic / scientific method . At lot religion stems from using philosophical arguments, thus when someone tries to logically disprove their existence, they're deemed a vital threat to society....

For example: Nicolaus Copernicus, was scared to that his book about astronomy would go against the church's teaching. He knew if his book was published while he was alive, he'd be tortured and killed. Sohh he opted to wait til his death for his book to be published.(swag :win: )

Nicolaus Copernicus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As far as QM, the topic is :mindblown: within itself, but I can link to some vids and books that might alter your perception, fix your misinformation, about sub-atomic particles.....

This is a fairly easy read: http://arxiv.org/pdf/1007.4184v1

A few blurred pages, but enough to get you through :manny:

:ehh: i agree with that

my point was more along the lines of how the non-physical aspects of consciousness are such a hard concept to nail down scientifically because 1) non physical phenomena can be difficult to measure and 2) many variations exist within a single consciousness, let alone multiple consciousnesses... so replicating an experiment and/or the results in repeatable experiements can be difficult.

so i agree there are lots of scientific studies related to the "field" of consciousness, but there are less definitive conclusions in the area around the non-physical aspects of consciousness that dont deal with neurons, synapse connections, or physical brain function.

metaphysical studies on consciousness are not getting published in any scientific journal any time soon.

:dead:

This was the best podcast so far. You covered a wide variety of topics and actually had a solid diversity of perspectives. You had good debate that didn't just devolve into insults or people speaking past each other. Props to everybody who participated.

Gundumb got exposed as a complete fraud on the podcast. It was like the curtain being pulled back in The Wizard of Oz.

All this time dude has been typing essays, recording youtube vids, and posting songs rapping about how Obama is a tyrannical marxist and all this bullshyt and it turns out he knows as much about the Constitution, the legislature, the political system, and current events as the average dumb teabagger in an Alexandra Pelosi video.

He doesn't know how many Senators are in each state, how bills are passed through the Senate and how a filibuster works.

And he thought Reagan appointed Paul Volcker. How can you supposedly have a Master's in economics and think that?

All this talk about Obama being a socialist for the past 3 years and it turns out he doesn't know the first thing about his presidency. He was like "maybe he's a moderate I don't know, I haven't been following politics." :snoop:

That's the good thing about the podcast. If you're uninformed, you're gonna get exposed if you make claims you can't support and others hold your feet to the fire. You can't take 10 minutes lifting generalized, trite, empty talking points and platitudes from freerepublic or talk radio or wherever when you're pinned down on specifics.
