yall buying/checking out hardcopies or doing the ebook thing.

Scribd pissing me off asking me for money now.

tbh i go the audible route if possible. Im a slow reader so its better for me as I can listen in the car, at the gym, or cooking etc. If not on audible then its ebook from amazon.

As far as last book I finished http://www.audible.com/pd/Nonfiction/A-Guide-to-the-Good-Life-Audiobook/B00G6ZLMDC

Highly recommend it if you like me are new to stoicism. Very practical concepts explained well by the author.

I'm downloading from my library. I'm new to ebooks/audio and this has been a wonderful gift. My library has a fantastic selection. They keep adding things. They just added a service called Hoopla which has movies, music, audiobooks, and television shows.

Anybody know how that amazon sharing works?. Could we possibly start something where we each get a book and share it with others if we like?

Again not sure if its a possibility or not.

I got to get around to reading this. Apparently its a profound read, atleast according to Will Smith....check the Tavis Smiley interview, he gives praise to this book as one of his favorite starting at 2:15 (The entire interview is powerful):

Likewise, i would easily recommend stoicism. Its a philosophical system full of practical gems. I assume you are familliar with the stoic Marcus Aurelius? His "Meditations" are priceless. But even beyond that is the works of Epictetus - "Discourses". There are other notable stoics but these are my fav. personnally..

I read the alchamemist after seeing that interview on Tv. I never read fiction but if its good enough for Will I said:manny: . Good book but I was :patrice: about the practical message of the whole thing. I mean I got a little but, not how much Will made it out to be. :yeshrug:But, it could have went over my head. I'm no where near as intellegent as the Fresh Prince.

As far as The meditations yes I have heard of them. The only issue I have with them and other stoic writings is the language. They speak in a way that makes it a chore for me to read or listen to. Its hard pulling out the wisdom when your trying to decipher what they are saying, if you feel me.

Criminology: The Core

Thought it would be interesting to see what academia said about the origin of crime, as well as learn about the judicial system. Can't say I'm too surprised about the findings but it's good to know :yeshrug:
