I joined the military after high school and used the GI Bill to pay for my education.

Then I started making up shyt on my resume because most of the time employers don't even check it.

Same . College and a CDL off that post 9/11 . Even got paid to take classes . That stipend was great

OP is half right. If you are not going to school for Professional Degrees or STEM degrees, your degree is most likely worthless. Way too many people go to school to get a degree that don't really need it at all

A degree isn't a scam per say. It's the over-saturation of the amount of people enrolling in college that is a scam

Even STEM degrees are being overcharged. Only bootstrappers still preach that outdated info in 2024. Its also the reason why school shootings are now commonplace

In this day and age it’s who you know
Most of my coworkers are nepo babies or friends of friends
Maybe 5 of my coworkers actually got it out the mud(and I hate that phrase) including me

You may know somebody else in another field and pivot to that
