i dont see why a person who supports charters cant just say that you still believe charter schools are the way, but that this particular school is crazy and needs to be taken over by new management or shut down. you dont have to throw the baby out with the bath water, and you dont have to jump through hoops to defend cacery

based on the evidence of history and the tradition of racism i dont believe there exists a benign type of white supremacy...nothing i say will satisfy someone that believes a white supremacist can have a positive impact on the lives of black people...

cuz i havent seen the data on how the school is doing and i dont know what the parents have to say about the school, that is the criteria that should be used

....people that are idealistic or partisan can never do that .... they must stay 100% committed to their ideology and can never concede a flaw... they fear if they admit a charter school or a public school, a conservative or a liberal, whatever, could ever be wrong, then somehow they feel they are saying their entire ideology is wrong......

Never got an answer but how was @DEAD7 poster of the year?
He split the vote. Got votes from both liberal and conservative posters. I don't agree with him on much, but he never resorts to name-calling and he actually takes an "L" at times. :manny:

would you feel this way if these were high level pedos instead of racists? lets say the woman is married to the guy who runs NAMBLA, and the school is believed to be partially funded by both NAMBLA donations and some strange looking cuban cacs who have a history of funding weird things involving children...ultimately, you have heard nothing about molestation data in the school. do you still take a casual position about it all, breh, or do you do something based off principle?

I think ones beliefs should only be considered if they affect work performance... If the best [insert profession] in the world hated [inserted profession], I dont see why he should be axed...

I understand the disgust and angst towards her though :manny:

I run into your type a lot. To avoid answering difficult questions, folks quote precedent, laws and/or take things at face value. Theres nothing wrong with that but its a feint attempt at being rational or empiricism. I cant help but see it as cowardice :yeshrug: or trolling

This woman was married to a Head of a racist terrorist group and is currently married to the founder of a man who runs a site which said terrorist group members frequent. :snoop: No one should have to explain why the fact that she is a spokeswoman for a minority uplift school is moral or ethically wrong. Seeing as if her life's (continuing) story is the antithesis of her chosen career path.

i dont think thats the right analogy tho, one thing you have to realize is that one of the assumptions of my views on education is that education is filled with racists, ive already taken racism into account, my assumption is that blacks are being taught by racists and white supremacists right now, as we speak,

charters and vouchers decentralize power from racists, incompetents and bureaucrats, allows more money and power to go to black educators, the actual racists that will inevitably continue educating black kids will be judged on their performance, if they dont perform they should lose their job and money

as far as this school im not concerned if their spokesperson is racist, if the parents are concerned she should get fired or the parents should transfer their kid out, but personally i just think its a weird story, i dont think of it as anything fundamental since like i said my assumption is that the whole system is filled with racists and at the end of the day performance is what really matters

you show me that the kids are doing bad and i will be in the front lines demanding this school be shut down

i think it is a good analogy. it gets to the issue of addressing ideologies held by educators that can be harmful to the children they teach. as long as white supremacy and pedophilia are both harmful, they make for a good analogy in this case. in that context, a response to one would be compared to the perceived reasonable response to the other and then inform me about the philosophy about how one truly believes in addressing potential threats to children.

now, if i expand the analogy to the concept of "decentralization of the harm", in the abstract, decentralizing pedos would be better than the alternative, i suppose, but if i ever heard of specific educators having proven ties to groups such as NAMBLA, i would also want direct action taken to remove them or shut them down. i dont see a compelling reason for looking the other way or defending it.

so, if a person says yes to removing pedo enthusiasts, i have to wonder why if they would not do the same for white supremacists...

your analogy is too soft because pedophilia is not transferable
racism is
and the hardcore racism of a self avowed white supremacist leader is vetting of similar company

a better analogy is a "reformed" pedophile wanting to work for an early education entity
