That's the thing, they don't. That's the problem with most people in this thread. The first time they became interested in black history was because of this man/movie and they can't fathom that anything existed before and they only know the information (false and truth) presented in the movie

I wouldn't say that.

It's just if all these historical facts are well documented and have been presented in different forms of media, why did it take a guy with a "macking background" to, in a way, popularize them or bring it to the forefront in a way that deviates from traditional presentation? Clearly their way wasn't reaching the masses like it should've been. While there may be inaccuracies like all docs, I can appreciate the delivery and its ability to captivate many. Hopefully we can build on this success moving forward. I'm not looking at HC as an end-all-be-all, but a great intro to hidden history often swept under the rug.

Do yall think it is just Tariq talking in the documentary? He got the people that write these pro black books, run these pro black clubs/organization, black scholars(african and african american), quoting european authors pre-racism that support his argument ... i don't get the pessimism in this thread? So if you agree with something in the documentary, you say "go and research it", as if the n1gga just made it up. Then you go to the original source that he is quoting and it states the same thing, then what will you say? "well, uuum... that n1gga a scam artist"

The movie sold out all over the nation, which kills the whole "black people don't watch educational shows". On top of that i've seen a thread on st0rmfr0nt where they target afrocentric books, videos on youtube etc and write negative reviews/comments. Thats the reason why you see many negative reviews/comments on these pro black videos.

Keep letting your oppressor teach you if you want.

Exactly..
Dudes came in the thread to complain, but all I hear are contradictions. And none of these guys can give a straight answer. If anything is Hidden Colors 1 or 2 is false,WHAT IS IT? If Tariq is a scam artist,who/or what is the "scam"?

I saw this film Thursday in Royal Oak. I thought it was great. If this was many people's introduction to our history, then let it be the jumping off point for them to continue to study further. Nothing is without criticism. This should not be looked upon as a bible or the definitive source on black history, but another piece in the collection to inspire or provoke thought or action. Tariq said he put it out to counteract all the bullshyt images we see of us in the mainstream media. It should also be a platform to create dialogue among us - whether you like the film or not.

Anyway..... Did anyone see Claud Anderson spittin that REAL??? lol

It must be a scam to actually pay for a DVD from a black production company :bryan:

Yet these nikkas will stand in line for 3 days to buy the new Jordans :mjpls:

Who said anything of this nature? :aicmon: :snoop:

Like I said earlier, It's hard to have an actual, intelligent discussion on here because there's so much extremism and d-riding.

I wouldn't say that.

The only reason y'all pay attention to it now is because 90% of y'all were already Tariq fans/avid youtube preacher watchers, which is why you still ignored all my questions to prove you're actually interested in the topic, not just the viewpoint 1 man has made available on such.

It's just not something black people generally care to hear unless it's out the mouth of an entertainment figure (ie. Nas, "I Can") because most black people are too lazy and unconcerned to do any research for themselves on their history. Let's just be honest with ourselves.

To be honest, a lot of Hidden Colors included well known open secrets. White people been knowing the information in Hidden Colors because many of them study it on the low. We fell off. I agree with you there. We have to keep searching.

Here is a site with practically all of the same information in Hidden Colors, organized by a white family:dwillhuh:

exactly...is this some "black academia" coalition that none of us are aware of? If we question the credibility of the information...provide people and resources that offer a rebuttal so that we can verify their credibility as well.

tried to. nasheed had criticism of his movie removed from youtube. posted earlier in thread.

The problem with the review you posted was that is was clearly written by a salty sarcastic whyteboi . One thing the review stated was that the film blamed the white fashion industry for making sagging pants in style to destroy black men. The film said nothing of the sort. So the reviewer has zero credibility

I wasn't saying white is right. Im saying that the information is widely known outside of the black community yet when an entertainer (Tariq) decides to show it, all of sudden there is an uproar. Doesn't make any sense. All the man is doing is putting known facts in an entertaining format. Some of the speakers I didn't agree with word-for-word in HC1, but you shouldn't agree 100% with anyone. Take the info in, do your own research.

I havent seen HC2 yet, so I can't comment on it.

*sigh*
I knew you were going to be in this thread. :skip:
None of the information in Hidden Colors was obscure to me prior to watching it. I have a library of books here in my house that'll make the average guy go :mindblown: and I've been reading some of them since I was 16. I'm 23 and only heard of Tariq like a year ago so that whole "Oh your just on it and think you know shyt after watching a video" stance isn't necessarily true.

People in general are lazy to do research, lets not generalize here and say it's only black people that are like that. I never understood the caviling of Tariq's products or any other people's information period. Info is info.

I write down my topics of interest for further research when I listen or read about these subjects.
