Hickmans Xmen run sucks

I loved House of X and Powers of X

when it showed Moira and her mutant power, the nimrod sentinel, the future of mutants and humanity, and how the Phalanx tied in

but now Hickman is going to Hickman

and now we got the X of Swords which is about a bunch of superfluous characters that tie into Apocalypse

I just fast forwarded this issue when the backstory came up and it turned out to be the majority of the issue

Hickman is legit brilliant. His problem, like a lot of creatives, is knowing limits, which is where the editorial side is supposed to come in. But since Secret Wars they've let him run loose and he's now constantly trying to out-Hickman himself, and you end up with the mess you end up with.


Truthfully he probably peaked with his S.H.I.E.L.D. miniseries, and even that took years to finish.

like everything before was Mixtape Hickman, now we listening to Major Label Hickman

See to me House of X and Powers of X are Hickman being Hickman.
Right now we're getting a lot of world building and a lot of other authors which I've enjoyed for the most part.
I'm guessing this 2nd half of X of Swords is going to give us more of what we want.

I dropped X-Men. At the comic shop on Wednesday when one of the employees was pulling my box, I told him to remove X-Men from my pull list. I don't like the fact that Moira is now a mutant and that EVERY mutant is welcome on Krakoa. I mean it's obvious that Krakoa is effecting the mutants because a lot are acting out of character but I'm not really enjoying what I'm reading. I mean it's different than what we've had in decades but I'm just not feeling it. I actually was enjoying the last Uncanny run with Cyclops putting the team back together and him and Logan were rocking their old costumes again. It felt fun and I was excited. If something good pops off I'll check it out but I'm done with X-Men for now.

But I like juggernaut on the team

HoX and PoX started off good but I don’t like what it turned into
Krakoa is definitely up to some shyt
Cecilia Reyes wouldn’t be down for that shyt
Hickman is overrated
Al Ewing is where it’s at

all the characters acting out is what gets me. you have dangerous characters that you have fought time and time again not only on your island, but on your high council, but people who have fought with them cant even get an invite? maddy is far too extreme to allow on krakoa, but you have exodus there as well as the shadow king? ask for respect but stomp around like dave chappelle as rick james did with the muddy shoes at eddie murphys house? at this point, im just waiting to see how this house of cards falls
