I think Kishimoto intended Naruto to be the Luke Skywalker to Obito's "Vader" when he said that. The "coolest guy" he was referring to is the original Obito that mirrored Naruto himself in dreaming to be Hokage and never giving up on friends. An Obito who came back in his last moments by sacrificing himself like he should've did years ago.
But I agree the quote panning over the dead bodies from what the Tobi/Madara persona committed does send the wrong message. Like imagine Luke & Vader having their heart to heart, but there's a pool of bodies Vader killed surrounding them.

Wtf is the point of wearing it? I don’t expect you to be able to stop a blast from a ship. But you would think it could at least slow down small arms fire. Finn and Poe are literally mowing them nikkas down with hand blasters. One shotting them nikkas
