Theres going to be that large market of gamers that haven’t updated yet looking for a new console once games are current gen/non pc only (NCAA 25, GTA6).

Those are the gamers that Sony are looking at.

Nothing to prevent when the needle movers are console only. People are going to want to play these games day 1, not wait 6 months or whatever. Plus a lot of those customers are those single game gamers, so a sub services doesn't entice them like others.

I don't think this is really their strategy. if they really want to use sequels as console bait, why ever release games like Forbidden West on PC? I think it's just some shyt they say to keep their console players from jumping ship

Their strategy is the reverse of that. They aren’t looking to bleed out PlayStation console owners to PC. Trying to preserve that ecosystem as long as possible. The reality is the console market is stagnant and the PC market is growing. At some point this strategy no longer makes sense.

I mean he can't come out and say we aren't putting our tentpole titles on PC day 1 because we have concerns some people who own PlayStation consoles today would be freed from the need to buy our hardware to play them in the future.

We all know that's the real reason. The majority of games played on the PlayStation platform are popular multiplatform games. If Sony puts their games on PC day 1 is makes PC the most logical purchase for any gamer because almost everything but Nintendo (and Rockstar) would be there day 1.

PC gamers know Sony isn't satisfied with the sales on their platform only anymore so all their games will eventually come to PC and they'll just wait. The PC gamers that don't already own a PlayStation aren't really looking to buy the console and he knows that. He's not converting them.
