that's really cute

Cute and true. You control your destiny at a two-year school. Treat it like a more challenging version of high school. Get your GPA above 3.8, play a sport, joint an honors society, a couple of clubs, and make it work.
:myman:

Mess around and get to a top-25 University like that :mjpls:

Or act like a dummy and get nowhere.

Seriously? I always thought they attended Mesa. I guess I wouldn't know. :yeshrug:
South Phoenix - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

to be clear, there was a decent presence of blacks at mesa cc, as a matter of fact, the black population on campus was probably disproportionately higher than the black population in mesa neighborhoods, but it was still small in real numbers, and it would be far more important to focus on the educational attainment of blacks at south mountain cc since that is the neighborhood where most blacks grow up in. smcc should probably be working more closely with the local high schools to make sure the standards are high enough.

:whoo: The highest percentage in Arizona, only about 4,000, and I didn't even realize there were that many. Should've gotten out of Tempe and Chandler more.

Phoenix CACs are a special kind of ridiculous. shyt is disgusting.

LOL, if you think phoenix cacs are bad, check out some apache junction and prescott cacs. hell, even the ones in mesa are a problem. my sister lives in tempe but has taken her kids to some different events in mesa, and she says the cacs just stare at her and her kids like they are martians or something.

If I hadnt gotten a full ride to my state school I would have considered the cc route. I think u guys are on the money about how high school doesnt prepare u for college. I went to a top hs and had a 98th percentile sat but I still didnt harness any of the skills i would need in college to the fullest extent. So much of it is the social transition from learning it all and class and then taking the test off that to learning independently, reinforcing in class, and then studying to take the test.
