Bullshyt. I have a damn near top of the line pc, dd2 still runs like ass. Meanwhile dozens of better looking as complicated games run just fine. Its simply optimized terribly. For ref HFW on pc runs seamlessly, looks insane and its enemies are very nuanced as well. Before you make this a trollololol sony game post Cyberpunk is the same.
HFW is one of the most basic and empty open worlds on the market. It looks good but it doesn’t hold up in complexity to Cyberpunk or DD2.

DD2 actually takes it a step further with the persistence of its NPCs and how they go on their own routines and interact, pretty much zero games on the market even attempt all of what DD2 is doing. Like NPCs die and end up in the morgue a few days later where you can resurrect them and they will continue their life. All items are affected by time and weather. A.I. reacts independently and can get into big ass fights without the players involvement. Destructible environments, and much more.

Cyberpunk ain’t doing none of that. Biggest complaint about the game is how dead it’s open world is.

Like i said. Most of these convos are driven by ignorance on how any of this works :francis:
Anyway the point I was making is this is another retarded stan thread. Dont hype of some shyt like DD2 for the same shyt this game is doing especially when Hellblade at least looks next gen.

And this statement is devoid of the context of how games are built and why they perform the way they do :manny:

I think the complaints were the main character sucks and the game becomes a snooze fest
Well I won’t argue that because that’s subjective to the user but I thought the main character was good personally. But if that’s a gripe with people I guess it is what it is.

The combat was dope as fukk imo

Game went diamond

One of my favs this gen. My biggest complaint was the ending.

The enemy AI and design in hfw is way more interesting than the shyt in DD2. And its not just you fighting 8000 wolves and goblins for 20 hours stop it slime.

Theres nothing in DD2 I played that made me go wow thats impressive from a tech perspective. Graphically its mid. Your pawns are consistently retarded and the npcs you speaking on causes even monstrous rigs to drop as much as 30 frames because these stupid ass devs cant optimize their shyt.

“interesting” has nothing to do with it.

It’s not an opinion. HFW open world and npcs are basic as fukk from a technical standpoint, no matter how much you are interested in them.

Again, not arguing opinions.

Objectively DD2 is doing way more with its world and inhabitants.

Like @daze23 said it’s your opinion if it’s worth it or not

There’s nothing that complex going on in DD2 at all. As someone who put 80 hours into it, capcoms engine just flat out sucks for open world games

Dragon's Dogma does some interesting things with it's npc's and affinity system. the question is, is it worth it's negative affect on performance?

Not at all. Its not doing nearly enough graphical or gameplay wise to run as badly as it does.

The fact that dragon dogma 12 years later is still probably the most "advanced" (Even if it is video game magic in some areas) and persistent feeling open world game to date is kinda sad.

If other games were doing this I'd say no, although the performance isn't bad at all for me anyway. But as it stands, yes. I'm not even sure what other open world game you can get this kind of experience from.
