You could limit any game in the playoffs to “They made 3s so they won”.

It’s the most simplistic and goofy way to look at the game. We executed well, just like last game, and the Nuggets struggle to defend our shooters especially in PnR setting.

Jokic’s passing options and lanes were limited, he was committing numerous turnovers due to being rushed, and he was consistently struggling on close outs.

If Strus shot like he did tonight in the first series, it would look different too. Saying the Nuggets lost because of MPJ is like saying we lost because of Strus.

Role players aren’t expected to be consistent.

The Nuggets got outplayed and the Heat were able to generate better looks for their role players than the Nuggets were. Jamal got locked up by Jimmy and he struggled to score whenever Jimmy was in the game.
I'll still say that Denver easily beat Miami if you get one of Gordon or MPJ to join Jokic like Murray did against LAL. That said, Miami knows what it has to do and they are capable of doing it. It's going to be interesting to see the return of Herro. It be either be a massive boost for Miami or a massive negative. This is actually a series unlike Boston where they need him.

Yes, it's an oversimplification.
But Spo didn't have to do ole girl like that.
Bc there IS a big difference btw 27pts/14 Assts and 41 pts/4 Assts.
Heat much more likely to lose if Jokic has 14 assists again. .
The only real difference to that is, Denver making/missing open shots.

I don't think the Heat did anything particularly different on defense to what they did in Game 1. Denver was still generating good looks but couldn't capitalize. MPJ was a complete non-factor on offense to where he became a hinderance, which we've seen from him far too often. Denver still could've won with Jokic not have many assists if MPJ was just average on offense.

It was what Miami was doing on the other end which won them the game. If you shoot 50% from behind the arc you're going to win the majority of the time. What folks think Miami did to turn Jokic into a scorer is just a red herring.

Except you can't.

Miami's success is predicated on 3-pt shooting more than your average playoff team. Denver don't need to win the 3-pt battle to win games. Miami does. The don't have any other means of consistent offense. Their #1 option is shooting under 40% over these first two games and has constantly run himself into dead ends throwing it out to his shooters to bail him out. They also don't have a definitive #2 option.

That's why 3-pt shooting is the ultimate equalizer for them.

People really just be talking huh?

How is pointing out an obvious conflict of interest "crying about the refs"? Everyone knows the NBA is rigged as fukk with the refs. Go look up Tim Donaghy and Scott Foster.

And yeah box scores cause if you think a team should be getting regular trips to the line when all they're doing is shooting wide open middies or bricking 3s then you clearly ain't watching the games. When even their own fukking coach comes out and says ain't shyt strange about it but nikkas on the internet still know better :heh:
Since you know so much about this fixed league and refs care to show us how much money or parlays you have won? You seem to know it all with refs assignment equaling automatic win for certain teams so post those tickets you've won from that skill set you have.

:whoo:

Your selection was Nuggets in 5 so with your expert refs and games analysis lets see how that holds up with Denver winning the next 3 games.

This team found ways to win multiple ballsy games in Milwaukee and Boston, I knew they’d find a way to win in Denver. Time to go home and play the first Finals home game since 2014:wow:

A lot of ppl knowledge of the game and resorting to the age ole casual “ref mongering” shows the true mentality of the nonsense of this thread and forum when it comes to the game of Bball.
Nugs first 3 qtrs got the mega benefit of calls. Especially the non calls BAM received.
To blame this game on Refs toward the HEAT is laughable and ridiculous

Ehh… Denver really got jerked by that Butler OOB leading to a 3 by Vincent that was blatantly missed and the Bam goaltend on Murray. Tough pill to swallow when you lose by 3.

Bam got called for a 3pt foul shot in the first half where he didn't touch Jokic.....you see how that sounds? Cry about the refs but have Duncan Robinson score 10 pts in 2 mins...
