It's #1. Some of the John woo shyt is up there like the hospital shootout in hard boiled

And some modern shyt like, honestly I think John wick is borderline UNAPPRECIATED for how good the action is. We love it, but those 4 truly elevated gun fu.

It's up to your preference. You may as well include Black Hawk Down as they've done a remarkable job from the way the soldiers were moving with weapons, to details like RPG hitting the helicopter the way it should, without some over the top michael bay-ish explosions.

John Woo changed the movie industry in mid 80s by introducing various techniques such as filming gun action and reaction in the same shot. Really wish his Hollywood films were not so toned down, compared to his Hong Kong work.

Couple other things other than the audio that stands out with the bank robbery scene.

Kilmer and De Niro took their training very seriously. I think it was real Special Forces training them and Kilmer especially looked great. They even use 'Heat' in real military training to show soldiers Kilmer's fast-acting reload technique.

Another thing.. Kilmer and De Niro are both covering each other heading up the street. You'll notice Kilmer on one side shooting, De Niro moves up to the next vehicle. De Niro then covers him and vice versa as they make their way up the street.. This was another real military tactic they were deploying.

The backstory is that Neil and Chris were ex marines. The movie kinda implies that, with the combat moves, but De Niro uses some military phrase once or twice.

Another cool moment is the line "you never wanted a regular type life....what's that? barbecues and ball games.....":

in the shootout scene you see a whole row of barbecues and charcoal all shot up
