NFL players get paid millions of dollars to catch an oblong ball of pig skin,
Slaves, by definition, don't get paid.
NFL players choose to play American football,
Slaves, on the whole, have no say in the matter.
NFL players are idolized by millions,
Slaves are ignored by all.
You fukk boys comparing AF to slavery is quite possibly the most ignorant thing I've heard on the website, and that's saying something.
You don't get it breh. All the black athletes making millions are an infinitesmal percent of the american black population, which is economically the lowest on the totem pole in this country. Our culture has been hijacked to such a degree that as far as I know, the only time you'll
ever see a black male on any kind of advertisement now if its its sports/entertainment related. Do you realize the effect this has on the younger generations' mindsets? The only place they see black men succeeding/cared about at that age is on a field/court chasing balls for a (most likely white) coach. In addition to the issues that already affect us, a lot of these kids grow up not knowing how to do anything else, and their (most likely mothers) will reinforce that shyt.
You say
idolized by millions?
If you mean millions of black kids 'idolizing' brehs that often have no true redeeming qualities (not all athletes), then yeah. You should see the shyt some college whites say when those players step off the field, or their 'favorite' player stops performing
Black men are a minority within a minority in universities, esp. if they aren't athletes, and our representation in other fields reflects this. Just check the numbers because they explain all this better than I can. I'm not saying athletes are the problem (unless they c00n/but into their own stereotypes) but when you step back and look at say, an NBA game where 90% of the players are black and the majority of the spectators are white, shyt starts lookin
real suspect if you know your history.
Having our athletes rise to prominence in this modern era of media has been a double-edged sword that has hurt us as a whole more than helped.
