Because with the current trend of white voice actors retiring from non-white roles, it's only a matter of time before cacs and alt-right trolls go, "Then why is Phil LaMarr allowed to voice Aquaman/Flash/Samurai Jack? Why was he allowed to do a 'stereotypical' Jamaican accent for Hermes?"

He even addressed it himself in this tweet:

:wow:been binging a lot of Boardwalk Empire lately and breh....I been wild sleeping on this show. The acting, the cinematography, the score, and the story just drew Ace in something terrible. It hurts that HBO rust this show out the door because it should had been more. Especially with a story arch focusing on Al Capone or even the disfigured sniper dude:whew:
It had all the makings to be an all time great but they would never "unleash" the characters and storylines they had at their disposal. Capone, Murder Inc., Narcisse, Lucky Luciano, etc. but all you got was an overdose/filler/wasted episodes of Nucky, Margaret, The Commodore, etc.,

Season 3 was fukking fire:wow:

The main issue with the show was the fact that there was no direction. Nucky went from being a corrupted treasurer with a heart, to a scumbag gangster. Meanwhile, there was so much fluff that killed it's potential to be on the level of shows like "The Wire" and etc:

  • Killing off Jimmy extremely early
  • Season 3>>>>
  • Too many inconsistent storylines that killed the vibe of the show
  • Nelson Van Alden character being wasted (dude should have been this hyper religious psychopath, rather than a sorry dunce that believes in the lord)
Have the show got the ratings and producers didn't move on to "Vinyl", it would had redeemed itself, but sadly the show fell flat on it's face despite the true potential of it.

Youtube TV increasing monthly prices by $15 to $64.99 a month

I was thinking about adding HBO Max to my services, but I don't know if it's worth it now :jbhmm:
