Shot entirely in Chicago, the half-hour comedy “South Side” premiered last summer and was quickly renewed for a second season, which was supposed to shoot this summer. That obviously didn’t happen, thanks to the “COVID of it all” as co-creator Diallo Riddle said when we talked recently.

For now, it’s unclear when this wonderfully Chicago-specific look at the farcical daily grind of working-class Black people on the South Side will be able to reschedule and begin shooting Season 2. The wait might be as long as a year, but co-creator Bashir Salahuddin said they are not opposed to shooting over the winter if that’s a possibility.

I'm at excited and nervous for them.... I hope it's a good project. They do good stuff but alot these cats find a tough time sticking around. It would be dope if they got good money behind Anime House but it's such a niche audience I don't know if that works for HBO

I'm glad South Side coming back, and being on HBO too is great, they can get a lil bit more explicit

I agree, there are some classics in there though. They got every A Nightmare on Elm Street film on there minus the one I had the most fun with: Dream Warriors

Shudder been keeping me fed these days. I was also shocked at how big the horror library is for Prime Video. Both killing it with that genre.

Yea I saw NoES movies on there. You're right the 3rd one is the best one. I remember hulu had a good library for horror but that was during October.
