Edit:
That is still a dope lil lineup for a new streaming service that I never though would delve into anime. That said, why any service wouldn't delve into anime is a head scratcher nowadays.

Anime should REALLY be a top priority for every streaming service. I’m actually surprised that none of these streaming CEO’s have thrown a bag at say, the creator of Cowboy Bebop or Inuyasha or Trigun (really any Anime that was popular during the Adult Swim/Toonami heyday) to make sequel series. That would PRINT them money

That's dangerous territory though, fam. Anime is basically beholden to its manga roots, so fans are gonna shyt on making sequels to classic anime without the manga chapters existing already. I'd be down for any of the sequels you suggested, with their og creators, but I'd be wary about the reception to it being done without manga preceding it.

Netflix and Amazon have been trying to get into the anime game, through funding and licensing different properties. Hulu has a nice little lineup of anime, but whichever one of these companies that starts to pour bread into quality original works is going to make a ton of profit. Everyone watches that shyt nowadays. Crunchyroll is starting to get into the manwha game, which I think is the next unexplored content.

Yea I remember the OG version thats the one where

The dude Griffin rapes his homeboy’s girl right in front of him at the end

so is the 2016 version a remake or a continuation?
It's a remake and in a completely different visual style. Heavy use of CG.

It's funny how they keep saying it's a non scripted Friends special but you know people will be mad about it being a reunion thing
