Alot of the write-ups I'm seeing are saying this is the show that Gotham was first pitched as before it took a turn into being a "Young Bruce Wayne" show.

Personally I ain't tryna watch a Batman show with no Batman. If Batman isn't in uniform regularly doing Batman shyt I'm uninterested.

Kinda disappointed and this is dumb. The movie is likely to come out first and then in between the first and second Batman movie we are gonna get a flashback to before The Batman?
My interest just fell off a cliff.

Batman is barely in the Gotham Central run and he doesn't say much when he shows up, it's mainly his rogue gallery. Gotham was suppose to be based on Gotham Central before Heller changed it into a Young Gordon/Bruce Wayne show

A Bludhaven show is a better idea. You better
Juelz Batman not showing up and rotate his rogue's gallery by saying they were ran out of Gotham. Yeah it will rely heavily the Batman mythos but every other DC show in the last 15 years has done so too.

It'd be dope if they ended the series by dropping a nuke on it like in the comic.

Man , can we get a RedHood or Nightwing show, League of Shadows. Hell the Bat Family, Jim Gordon could make an interesting show.

The Batman HBO Max series is a prequel set in Year One

At DC FanDome, Reeves, who will produce the series with Winter, reflected a bit on what to expect from the show, which will focus on the Gotham Police Department. In conversation with actress and comedian Aisha Tyler, Reeves said the Gotham PD series will focus on the department in the Batman universe’s “Year One,” as the “masked vigilante” — that’s Batman — “starts to unsettle the city.” That technically makes the show a prequel to the movie, which Reeves describes as following “Year Two” Batman.

As we all know, Gotham City’s police department has been steeped in corruption, and Reeves said the series will center on that — corruption in Gotham that “goes back many years.” In particular, Reeves said, the show will be from the perspective of one particular crooked cop. “The story is actually a battle for his soul,” Reeves said.

Viewers will recognize familiar characters within the DC universe, but Reeves noted there will be “entirely new” characters created by Winter for the show.
