One of the main attractions of HBO was the Saturday movies. Now the Saturday movies are like 20% RT ratings type joints. I dont have hbo (go to my parents house to watch) but this is horrible. I get that their original programs is how they survivr but this is horrible.

my theory is all the movie studios are trying to pull their content for their own streaming apps if they don't have them yet.

They put all their money into their TV shows. Who cares.

Edit: misunderstood this thread. You are right @valet, but those the old days. The studios are putting things on their own platforms now.

Name the non-Disney blockbusters you looking for:ld:
From 2018, HBO has Bohemian Rhapsody, A Star is Born and Aquaman
Everything else in the top 10 is Disney:manny:

This right here. HBO doesn’t have Disney, which means no MCU or Star Wars.

This is more about Disney having all the blockbuster movies than HBO not having blockbusters

HBO still has WB and Universal which means all the DCEU, Jurassic World and Fast and Furious movies

I've watched at least one, that I thought was brilliant, this year, OG, and there was another one about sexual assault filmed in a high school in New York, that I never finished, but I thought was reservedly impressive.

I think it's DVRs that change the timing of movies. I've got 50 movies lined up, so on a weekend I just pick the one I'm feeling at the time. DVRs completely changed how and when I watch TV. Only a few must-see shows do I watch live and that's mostly sports.

Like @dora_da_destroyer said, I don't watch live TV besides sports or the occasional series, but I thought they premiered their new movies on Sunday now. That's when they go up on the app at least:manny:
Right now you can stream Bohemian Rhapsody, A Star is Born, First Man, The Favourite, Aquaman, Crimes of Grindewald, The Mule, etc. All of the MCU stuff was licensed to Netflix up until Captain Marvel. That'll obviously be Disney+ exclusive. A24's stuff tends to be on Amazon or Netflix first. But HBO is still a good mix of blockbusters (whater those are outside of cbm nowadays) and Oscar nominated films. They've gotten all of The Rock's movies so Hobbs and Shaw should end up there first. Basically, if Warner has a hand in a movie, it should end up on HBO first.

They're available on the app on Saturday. After 10pm.

But I am someone who checks for the movies (on demand weekly) and they come in waves. Some weeks are trash, and some are :blesseddog:

Movies still come on Saturday night. Their original shows come on Sunday.

If you have the patience to read just a FEW more words you'll understand what he's griping about
The irony:mjlol:If you had the patience to read just a FEW more posts you'd see me tell breh how to get HBOGo for Free.99 and also see OP get replied to in far more flagrant a manner than my joke.

No doubt. I only use HBOGo, so whatever new movie they're premiering I only see on Sunday while checking for new episodes of their series.

Did I just walk into a thread created in 1995? shyt, I still purchase and value physical media but even I am not sitting around expecting premium channels to be debuting movies on the weekend, go on there and find something to stream whether it's a TV show or movie :dahell:

Also what blockbuster movie are you looking for? If it's a Marvel or Star Wars joint that's Netflix (soon to be Disney+ when the deals expire). If it's anything else it's probably on HBO in the library
