One of the main attractions of HBO was the Saturday movies. Now the Saturday movies are like 20% RT ratings type joints. I dont have hbo (go to my parents house to watch) but this is horrible. I get that their original programs is how they survivr but this is horrible.

Name the non-Disney blockbusters you looking for:ld:
From 2018, HBO has Bohemian Rhapsody, A Star is Born and Aquaman
Everything else in the top 10 is Disney:manny:

When i go over my parents house i do.
If your parents have HBO, that means they get HBOGo for free. Ask them for their password and you can use the app to watch anything on the channel, including every series and tv movie they've ever made.

As for the movie part, HBO tends to get the rights to air a lot of the better movies that come out every year.

You noticed that too huh?

If I wasn't getting into anything on the weekend, one of the highlights was watching the new Saturday HBO movie, some fights and good grub.
Actually all of the premium movie channels used to have new Saturday movies with HBO being the best and Starz, Showtime and TMC having the lower-rated ones.

Now its mostly HBO and all they have is bullshyt like "Isn't It Romantic" every weekend. :hhh:

This is probably because of the streaming wars. All of the studios are keeping their content on their own platforms.

Who the fukk is watching live HBO (or any premium channel) outside of their weekly series? :what: everything they offer is on demand, watch the movie you want to watch, like how is this a complaint in 2019 “omg they’re not showing a movie I want to see tonight” :stopitslime:...

or you can pay $5 and rent some shyt, not like you’re actually paying for HBO monthly, so you can afford to rent what you want :rudy:

What are some examples of these blockbuster saturday HBO films from the past? lol

I think he's refering to back in the day when they'd premier a new movie every Saturday..it would be shyt like The Fugitive, Independence Day, etc... I mean they still do that but you can stream everything now.

The days of discovering new films/directors, etc. by flipping through channels are dead.

HBO still premieres marquee movies on Saturday nights. Weird thread.
Like @dora_da_destroyer said, I don't watch live TV besides sports or the occasional series, but I thought they premiered their new movies on Sunday now. That's when they go up on the app at least:manny:
Right now you can stream Bohemian Rhapsody, A Star is Born, First Man, The Favourite, Aquaman, Crimes of Grindewald, The Mule, etc. All of the MCU stuff was licensed to Netflix up until Captain Marvel. That'll obviously be Disney+ exclusive. A24's stuff tends to be on Amazon or Netflix first. But HBO is still a good mix of blockbusters (whater those are outside of cbm nowadays) and Oscar nominated films. They've gotten all of The Rock's movies so Hobbs and Shaw should end up there first. Basically, if Warner has a hand in a movie, it should end up on HBO first.
