Somebody already posted the impressions of people who watched more than a a trailer and people found the movie great. Like I said some nikkas see black and associate low quality with it. If that's you then tap dance along.

I am ashamed of the movies that they shown of black people history in the last couple of years yeah , am I ashamed of the history of black people no . When movies like( theres a lot just naming a few) harriet tubman , huey p newton , the revolts and black inventors come out I would show support . don't agree with the movies that have come up , there rubbish and a movie which is a ( majority black ) SCI Fi or something like that would be more interesting

You don't think a movie about the voting rights act of 1965 is relevant when that same law was just stripped of a lot of its power just recently? You don't think a movie about police brutality and crooked politics in order to protect said police is relevant? You don't think a movie that discusses the equality gap between white people and black people is relevant?

not a fan of protesting don't seem being working . if voting rights act been stripped away recently then what has been done then is gone , then its not very relevant in the present . I liked fruitvale station(police brutality) but if they kept of making police brutality movies I wouldn't like it that much .

all that's great but movies that isn't always about problems and race would being better with different genres

My issue isn't with black movies, it's with the dearth of good black actors. Like, beyond the lights, i didn't see it, but it seems like it suffered from not having any young marquee names...but who are young quality actors? (And them not pubbing it was from the love and basketball director) Then the few that can act get recycled to death or stuck playing dramatic roles in black struggle movies and biopics...can we just have a black "i am sam" or a quality older black romcom like "it's complicated".

And no offense to my afircan brethren, but I'm tired of african actors getting the few "strong" African American roles in films as of late....
