I hate these old era vs new era discussions.

If you send a star or fringe star from any era into a new era with all the advanced doctors, trainers, etc. they'd still be stars. If a guy has great shooting mechanics, he'll be launching multiple threes with no problem.

I think Bird before the back issue was actually more athletic than either.Especially Jokic..And even more so, for being a 6'10 guy.From '80-'86, he was sneaky athletic.Master at creating space.High release point.I seriously believe he'd average 30+ a game today.

He would have better nutrition and training. Think of a smaller more athletic slightly worse shooting but way more skilled Dirk.

If you look at the stats, you can make a case that Dirk was actually a slightly worse shooter.

Bird was a better all around player than Luka. Bird was a better defender, better rebounder, better shooter.. Their passing is about equal..
