Do you have any thoughts on why they were opressed, beyond the white man is evil? Again, I don't mean to give offense. But it's not a question of morality. Yes opression is morally wrong and they shouldn't have done it. But this discussion was about power/competence/capability.
Should have been more clear, because one of your post spoke about why things are still the way they are. Why men are still in power? How long does it take for a group to overcome something and eventually rise to power? For women it goes beyond race, to something that has been happening since the beginning of time. Before it was even about mental skill and more about brute strength. Men are naturally
physically stronger than women, most of the time physically larger than women. Therefore they have had the upperhand. Then they made laws to oppress women.
This is more about power than anything else. If you have the power it doesn't matter who else is competent or capable. How would anyone even know if they don't get the opportunity? How can you say that when most women along with minorities don't even get to break that glass ceiling. Most of the people in power aren't even there because of their competence and ability. It's because of who they know, money, and power.
