Nope, it's just another language. Nowhere does the Bible say it's a language where the devil couldn't decipher it.

For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit.

"The one speaking in a tongue speaks to God rather than to men" if the men who are listening do not understand what he is saying.

Paul here was talking about them speaking in the church. He's saying "if people don't know what you say when you speak in tongues, the only one you're talking to is God", and that wasn't gonna benefit anybody there.

That's why if you read that whole chapter, he says if there's no translator there for speaking in tongues, then "keep silent" and don't do it.

where they cross-over and clap boards
I saw it church a few times, I would be sitting there like is this an act or real :damn::ohhh::lupe:

But the ones that would be doing it were these women that wore skirts everywhere they went. They would be at every church function M-F. Ironically their daughters got knocked up and had multiple kids at an early age.

1 Corinthians 14 verse 1-6 is basically saying that Paul would prefer that the faithful be bestowed with the spirtiual gift of Propheysing over the GIFT of speaking in tongues. His reasoning is that speaking in tongues, because no one can understand it but God, only edifies the person speaking it whereas Propheysing edifies the mulitides because it is easier to understand.

edit: my fault, i just read ur post over again. He doesnt say to not do it........he says to not do it in church.

I'm Hard Like D-Block Readin The Book Of Enoch...
a few are prolly legit, but the rest are just copycatting, but isn't that true for most of hueman's behavior here on earth

i know a few times while zoned/meditating i've heard voices of different languages, some sounded archaic as hades, but who knows really, but it didn't really start compelling me to start babbling them out loud

a lot of it is just persuasion/hypnotism though lets be trill

i remember one time my akhi from another mommy told me he went to a baptist styled church and the preacher touched his forehead expecting him to faint and he just stood there and looked at him,the preacher then proceeded to get mad and told him it was because he didn't have "The Holy Ghost":russ:

too many charlatans mayne, they ruin it for the true spiritual/mystic beings,if Yeshua did come back in the flesh to this hellpit the only way he'd set foot in most of these "churches" is to kick them down:manny:

What "speaking in tongues" refers to is not gibberish, but the ability to speak in many languages at once, all the while being able to have everyone understand you.

That is shown in this passage of Acts:

Acts 2:3-6:

3 And there appeared to them parted tongues as it were of fire, and it sat upon every one of them: 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they began to speak with divers tongues, according as the Holy Ghost gave them to speak. 5 Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem, Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. 6 And when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded in mind, because that every man heard them speak in his own tongue.

Whatever gibberish people spew and claim is speaking in tongues is NOT so. You're just speaking in gibberish that is not discernible to anyone.

This gift or charism was given mostly to the early Christians to aid in the development of the primitive church. Since the true faith is widely accessible to all as it is now, there is no real need for this gift any longer, although it not totally impossible for God to give people this gift as He so pleases.
