The reason the first Christians got the gift of speaking in tongues is because they were gonna be speaking to people from all different parts in their native languages - people were supposed to be able to understand them.

There is real gift but what you see in most churches is wrong. It's either fake or they're using their gift out of order. It's a gift that helps you in your private prayer life. Only time it's to be used in public in when some one interprets what is said. Other then that, it's pretty much a lack of maturity on their or the churches part. Sorta like showing off and saying "Hey, I'm spiritual. Watch this. "Shay-bow-bow-sha!" And I speak in tongues but not in public.

i grew up in a penecostal church i used to loooove going to church on Sundays and spot all the new people visiting most of the time they are unaware of how a penecostal church gets down especially on a Sunday night service....

My great grandfather was a baptist preacher and i used to walk by his room sometimes and he would be kneeled down besides the bed doing that shyt.I never necessarily believed it.But he was the nicest man you'd ever meet.Wouldn't hurt a fly always smiling.I remember one night i was getting a little crazy talking shyt to some people and he got up put his robe on and told me he was gonna help me fight he was like 85 years old he use to be a boxer i still got his old gloves from the 20s.But nah i don't really believe it.I think he was just trying to talk to god.

he was a G.... ride or die.....man i bet he woulda demolished them if he was in his prime ..God bless your gand pop G.....I never got to meet my Grandfathers they both died when I was a baby .....that's the only thing i missed out on
