Has Triple H ever had a good PPV match where he was the better performer of the two?

I don’t recall. Rock, Austin, HBK, Angle, Benoit, Foley, Taker, Jericho etc. always carried his stiff roided up ass.

ehh

when did the bolded happen?? i dont recall taker or jericho ever out-performing triple h.

also, triple h carried batista to some surprisingly great matches back in the day.

They were commercial because they were bigger. :russ:

By the way let's not disrespect Outkast, everybody rocked with them, from old school hip hop heads, kids, women, they had music for everybody.

Throw DMX for the very early 2000s and Lil Wayne for the mid to late 2000s (Jay's worst era) also.

when you fall into "music for everybody' category, while not being a factor with the core audience of your genre, then youre basically a commercial numbers act. you cant dress it up and dance around it, just because you like them.

DMX fell behind jay once dynasty dropped. nobody was hotter than jay after that until 50 cent blew up.

jay and trips do have similarities but yall be buggin out with the "jay was never the best of any era narrative".

who was hotter than jay-z in the early 2000s??

dont give me any commercial crossover names like eminem, outkast who just did numbers and thats it.

Hotter than or equal to:

DMX
Nelly
Ja Rule
Juvenile
50

I've always said Triple H is the Jay Z of wrestling.

He was always around, but never the best of any era. His longevity made him more of a legend than the actual body of work. His best works are brought up as great relics by him and his fans, but at the time they were actually happening, they had nowhere near the impact they would lead you to believe. The true GOATs of his era are guys he looked up to, they didn't actually see him as a peer, at times they even disrespected him. (Rock, Tupac in Jay's case.)

As time went on they both transitioned to the big homie role and were able to put a lot of guys on and now people see them as the cornerstone of their craft because without their blessing you may not have a future.
2Pac was alive for only like 6 months of Jay-Z's run and dissed him for no reason other than rolling with Biggie, what a stupid fukking point to make :mjlol:

Every match HHH had with Rock in 2000

As a heel, he led all those matches

- DMX was still neck-n-neck thru the EARLY months at the top of the decade, but jay pulled away from em.
- juvenile was on the cusp but baby & slim dropped the ball.
- 50 cent was moreso mid-2000s.

the rest of these were moreso radio rappers. nelly, jarule, ludacris. they were cool but never anywhere near the coversation.

im gonna spin this in the booth. ive been meaning to do it for a while now anyway. i dont want to derail this thread.
