Has there ever been players as successful this early as Jokic and Doncic be so culturally insignificant?

i mean does anybody really care about the nba like that, for the last decade or so it’s been so much bad propaganda against American players and the nba that I believe people just tune out the nba unless it’s drama related

Of course nobody will check for euro players if they don’t even fukk with the American players

You can’t shyt on the nba for years then wonder why white European players aren’t celebrated like that

culturally insignificant to who? the old guard like lebron and steph are still the big names and leading jersey sales. but they're old heads. luka is right behind them and joker is in the top 10. the marketing machine is slow to adapt.

The problem is that the nba is such a watered down product with minimal defense that it doesn't make sense to praise fir praise sake

Joker doesn't do a good job marketing himself or the league though. he acts like he'd rather be at home. Dude acted like he didn't even want to attend the championship parade.
Thats a big difference than someone like MJ having a popular sneaker brand, making a popular kids basketball movie, appearing in MJ jam Music videos and stuff at his peak. People like Magic, MJ, Kobe, Lebron acted like spokesmen for league and pushed it forward. Jokic just acts like an hourly employee waiting by the timeclock 2 minutes before the end of the shift. Luka has the potential to be better, but he just has to start winning. But being foreign is a big handicap.

TYRONE GA!
He’s white and he’s one of the greats. That used to be enough, no matter if a player won a ring or not. That’s another reason too, ring culture. However, if he was American that played in a different market, maaaaan he’d be spoken about a notch below Caitlin Clark. Then we’d be asking the questions you just asked.

USA is STARVED for a white american superstar hoops player.

Exactly why Caitlin is killing it in ratings and endorsements.

Joker don't give a fukk. GOAT 2nd Round Pick. Lept past the nikka that was the starter ahead of him (Nurkic) and got him traded. He might not be jump out the gym athletic, but dude is supremely skilled, moves up and own the court like :unimpressed: , and busts everyone ass without all that load management bullshyt while playing bullyball too. nikkaz just gon have to get and be

But lord if that mufukka name was Nick Jacobs. :pachaha:

true, joker's mgmt team and the league don't do a good job marketing him right now. i suspect part of that is because he's not native to american culture and doesn't really gravitate to the limelight. that said, we're starting to see him in more commercials, so the marketing machine is warming up. luka is on jordan brand so he's getting more of a push and has that marketing machine behind him.

social media is also a much different beast now. it wasn't a big driver with the 80s and 90s legends. lebron might have been the biggest star reaching his pinnacle right around the explosion of social media and making the world "smaller" and these guys easier to access.

Jokic is as interesting as a wooden blank. Doncic seems a bit more charismatic, but his fashion sense is awful and his interviews are extremely boring. Maybe it's not even about them being foreigners, but more so that they just aren't interesting personalities.

Jokic personality reminds me why Magic Johnson is like 10 times wealthier than Larry bird today

When it comes to MJ you forgot the most important ingredient...from an aesthetic perspective, Jordan had one of the most entertaining styles of play in NBA history.

Jokic's style of play is only pleasing to hardcore bball heads, not the casual fan.
