Replace him with Harden in D'Antoni's system & he'd average 40 PPG
I ain't even a Harden fan but there's nothing PG does better than Harden offensively besides shoot the 3 ever so infinitessimally slightly less streaky than he does. Harden shoots better from the field than PG does for their careers, he draws contact and gets to the line infinitely more often and shoots slightly better once he's there than PG does, he's a better ball handler, has more moves than him(even if half of them involve straight up jumping into a defender
), his playmaking and court vision are in another stratosphere from PGs entirely, etc.
I don't think PG could average more than 25-6 PPG as the #1 option on anything but a tanking team, he never managed to average even 24 PPG in any year in that exact role as a Pacer. Saying he'd be the first since Wilt to average 40 with D'antoni is nonsense with no basis in reality, even you can't really believe that breh.
