Edit: Also, I do care about the characters on the show although I acknowledge the show doesn't always know the direction its going and it juggles a lot of tones. But its slowly but surely found its footing and what it wants to be and the stuff with young bruce is compelling to me along with still tracking Gordon's arc and the amount of things he's doing or done that will eventually catch up to him. It doesn't have the benefit of Arrow or Flash to be about its superhero but that doesn't make it a lesser show

Idk why there's this belief that fox, let alone any network, likes to cancel shows, especially with the amount of money that goes into producing a show. The shows that they've let go have done bad ratings wise sometimes abysmal ratings wise and other shows with average or meh ratings, they let them keep going under the provision that the show chop its budget but not all shows can do that. Since the channel surfing podcast has been cited in this thread, the hosts on that show say this damn near every episode and it seems like fans just don't get it

Cause they still get better ratings thus they don't care breh. Plus as much as it sucks to say it, fox, abc, nbc, and cbs don't compete with the CW. CW is on a whole different viewing plain. Gotham is doing what it does, Shield is doing what it does, Carter is doing what it does and out of the three, Carter is the one most likely to not be back next year cause the ratings weren't there.
Not sure why all the shows can't be enjoyed. It's not like they are competing against each other in the same time slots. Flash has probably been the best of the superhero shows this season but no way Arrow has been better than AoS, Peggy and/or Gotham. Actually, the Flash/AoS double header on Tuesday has been my most enjoyable night during the week...

Good vid. They hit the nail right on the head. The show is all over the place. It doesn't know what it want's to be. Its serious one episode then its cheesy and goofy the next. They have a good thing going on with the Pengiun then they push that to the back burner to introduce new villians, then these guys are pushed back for other sh*t
The Fish Mahoney character and storyline makes no sense and is out of place for what's going on. I'm up in the air about young Bruce Wayne. Its good but you wish he was older and at least training to become Batman, etc etc etc.. And I've watched damn near every episode. They have good elements but they don't capitalize on it.
Doing a "Gotham" show isn't even the problem. It's the direction of the show. If they had based the show on the "Gotham Central" comic book series, this show would be way better off.
