He's OK, never bothered me as an actore.

I bet most of the roles he was cast in weren't even meant for a black guy, they just thought "If we need a black guy in this movie, it might as well be [CHARACTER X].........somebody call Mackie"

Who the fukk is going to go see a movie with Anthony Mackie in the lead?

You can say this about anybody BEFORE they become a star.

What he (well, his agent, I guess) needs to be doing is building his star profile. The roles he's taking aren't doing that.

But at the end of the day, you take what you can take.

what happened to Derek Luke?

Black actors always disappear

Derek Luke is a great actor.

Friday Night Lights, Antwone Fisher, I thought he did well as Puff in Notorious. Thought he would be big in Hollywood now.

He's a successful working actor in Hollywood. I haven't checked his upcoming roles yet but his career can go either way at this moment. He can keep landing good supporting roles like he's getting or somehow deliver with a breakout role and performance to make people take notice. I think that his Hurt Locker performance has him where he is today. Alot of actors black or white aren't even close to getting the work that he's getting today even if his roles are supporting character types. I think his ceiling is a Don Cheadle. I can't see him getting into the Will Smith or Denzel level of success and mainstream

i liked it when denzel, will smith, wesley snipes, laurence fishburne, morgan freeman, chris tucker, eddy murphy, don cheadle, and whoever else i may be missing were all running around in the same relative time period/decade doing their own thing dolo... in addition to the tupac's michael jordan's shaqs (:scusthov: @ kazaam/steele lol) and other non-actors who were also coming out with movies.

its funny lookin back at how it was back then (lookin like we was on the steady come up) and how much shyt has regressed to where we got dudes talkin that 'buncha crabs in a barrel trying to crawl out' mentality more so than ever.

On some, "fukk anthony mackie, it should be this person.." when really it should be fukk hollywood and they hatin ass bytch ass cac ass tendencies because anthony and ALL them other melanin blessed actors should be allowed to come in and put in :lift: on the big screen like the greats who came before them
