how so? an up and coming rapper who has been hailed as "the future of hip hop" and "the dude who's gonna bring lyricism back to the mainstream" drops his major label debut album on which he obviously wants to prove that they hype is real, and yet there's two songs back to back on the album on which a guest has outshined him...

I simply asked if this was unprecedented or if it had been accompanied before. Where's the harm in that?

shyt is useless fodder. It never even crossed my mind while listening to the songs that he got outshined. Not even sure if I agree, and really don't care. Only way it would matter is if his verse was lacking or subpar or it was a track where the goal was to "go in", like Rigamortis or some shyt.

You don't like the album, which is cool, but this is your way of trying to slight dude in a totally trivial way. It really has no bearing on the music or Kendricks skills as an emcee.

One of Kendricks strengths to me is that he's not trying to foolishly murder every verse on some slaughterhouse "I'm trying to prove myself" shyt.

Nah, Poetic Justice is the perfect song for a Drake feature. His verse fits perfectly but I don't consider that bodying anyone. Its not like Kendrick's verse (especially the 2nd one)was wack.

Jay Rock came off on Money Trees, but once again I didn't feel like he bodied K. Dot. I would expect Jay Rock to come with a dope verse cause he hungry and knows that verse will get heard more than anything he has done in the past..

Lol, do ya'll just list to collabs to figure out who won?

You do realize on most features the guest gets to listen to the hook and the main artist verse before they record, right?

Anyways, they both are dope songs so I'm cool with that
