how so? an up and coming rapper who has been hailed as "the future of hip hop" and "the dude who's gonna bring lyricism back to the mainstream" drops his major label debut album on which he obviously wants to prove that they hype is real, and yet there's two songs back to back on the album on which a guest has outshined him...
I simply asked if this was unprecedented or if it had been accompanied before. Where's the harm in that?
shyt is useless fodder. It never even crossed my mind while listening to the songs that he got outshined. Not even sure if I agree, and really don't care. Only way it would matter is if his verse was lacking or subpar or it was a track where the goal was to "go in", like Rigamortis or some shyt.
You don't like the album, which is cool, but this is your way of trying to slight dude in a totally trivial way. It really has no bearing on the music or Kendricks skills as an emcee.
One of Kendricks strengths to me is that he's not trying to foolishly murder every verse on some slaughterhouse "I'm trying to prove myself" shyt.
