90% of hollywood movies have a male lead leading the way, usually there is a chick he is with in the movie who is the female lead but she is often a meaningless side character only relevant because of her relationship to the male hero. That is what hollywood was built on and what people have championed all these years. That concept sets the tone for everything else that happens in the industry if not Western lifestyle in its entirety. Its not an easy fix its a systemic thing. I find it hard to feel sorry for anyone involved.
