But people out here mad at Cam today:gucci:

Martha

they only pissed cause he's a brotha...if he was white, they wouldve tried to have a dialogue with him on some tv special; experts wouldve spent time 'trying to understand why he would think such things'; etc.....

just like this cat here: sounds like he should be in jail, at the very least some charges should be brought up, but they more worried about getting him fired.....

This woman is the goddaughter of Steven Spielberg and even she was too intimidated to come forward until now. It just really points out how powerful certain men are in Hollywood and the lengths people will go to to protect them and the brand they're associated with. I hope this starts a landslide of take downs.

One of the more potent stories I read was a female journalist who at an event asked Harvey a question he didn't like, so he barked on her crazy in front of everyone.

Her boyfriend (another journalist) went to defend her, Harvey threw him down a flight of stairs and beat him practically on the street in front of dozens of paparazzi who all took pictures of it.

Not a single picture from that night exists. Anywhere.

That's how powerful dude is/was. I'll try and find a link to the article.

Wow that's crazy, I went searching and apparently others remember it too.

On The Cut, Rebecca Traister wrote that in 2000, while covering a pre-election party Weinstein was throwing, Weinstein called her a “c–t” in response to a question he didn’t like, then threw another reporter down a flight of stairs and dragged him outside in a headlock. Such was Weinstein’s power, Traister wrote, that no other reporters covered the incident and no photos ever appeared.

Some good posts and insight in here, also, that was a long overdue conversation a few pages back, about that poster, who has been politicized in the last year or so, which is really eerie to see in real time. Also, the comments about men speaking out, this is what I have been doing for a few years now. Don't laugh, don't encourage, and don't stay silent regarding sexism, misogyny. That is condoning and accepting it. I'll just call it for what it is, in no uncertain terms, and say don't make those comments around me, I don't think it's cute or funny. Obviously, there are degrees, and casual sexism is so built into our culture, you have to be reasonable, but when I see it, I don't tolerate it.

Seems like now that he has been officially fired, people are going to be sharing their stories, like I suspected, he needed to be out of power, at least somewhat.

That's the exact story I read. She posted in on October 5th.

Here's just a bit of it:

"Weinstein didn’t like my question about O, there was an altercation; though the recording has alas been lost to time, I recall that he called me a c*nt and declared that he was glad he was the “fukking sheriff of this fukking lawless piece-of-shyt town.” When my colleague Andrew (who was also then my boyfriend) intervened, first calming him down and then trying to extract an apology, Weinstein went nuclear, pushing Andrew down a set of steps inside the Tribeca Grand — knocking him over with such force that his tape recorder hit a woman, who suffered long-term injury — and dragging Andrew, in a headlock, onto Sixth Avenue.

Such was the power of Harvey Weinstein in 2000 that despite the dozens of camera flashes that went off on that sidewalk that night, capturing the sight of an enormously famous film executive trying to pound in the head of a young newspaper reporter, I have never once seen a photo."

Important to note, that men do this everywhere, from the bank down the street, to the coffee shop around the corner, the nightclub, on and on. It's by no means just Hollywood, it's just more visible, because people know the names and faces, of some, but not nearly all of his victims. If he went after actresses like this, the staff and hired help had to be hit much harder, and much quieter.
