One of the few men that Andre the Giant even feared (the other two being Haku and probably Bad News Brown).

He also was one of the few who gave Owen Hart a clapback after Owen pulled a rib on him. In 1998, the WWF was in town and they had a tradition of always going to Harley's where they would cook out, kick back, and chill. Harley made some of his famous chili which Owen then spiked with some of the hottest tabasco sauce in the country. Wrestlers got sick all night. The next night at RAW, Harley caught Owen backstage, walked up behind him, and zapped Owen with a 250,000 volt stop gun (no homo) while he wasn't looking. "That's for my spiking my chili, you little shyt. :stopitslime:"

I wonder if that story about him pulling a gun on Hogan was true or not. :ohhh:

:rip:
If he did & didn't clap him, he was a sucka. R.I.P. though

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!

In the mid-80s when Race was still with the NWA, Hulk Hogan and the WWF came to the Municipal Auditorium in Race's hometown of Kansas City.

Race decided to prove a point and stormed the locker room, surprising both the Funk brothers and champion Hulk Hogan. He punched Hogan hard in the ribs, sending Hulk falling backwards into a chair.

Hogan, trying to get out of the situation, said "Harley, I thought the first time I saw you in Kansas City, you'd have a great, big gun."

Race calmly replied with "I don't have a great, big one..." and pulled out a .38 caliber handgun, sending Hulk scurrying from the room.

Ok he redeemed himself. He still should've shot him in his ass though.

Was he racist? He was taking these bumps for Simmons.

This was dope, really good storytelling. Have to seperate the real man from the character. I don't him well enough to judge but can't judge him off a wrestling angle when he's the heel. This was great, he came across as a racist scumbag made him a villain and Ron even more popular which eventually went to the title win. Harley comes across as deplorable here and still has some believability despite being older and run sounds serious and passionate in his promo. This is the kind of shot where it's so easy to suspend your disbelief, want to see the racist get his ass kicked.
