The problem is them thinking they fell from a grace in the first place. Can we have a real conversation about the false legacy Michigan has cultivated for themselves. When have they ever been a perennial naty contender? They had their run in the early 70's and that one year in '97 and that's it. 10 wins and a NY6 bowl appearance is the benchmark for Michigan. Maybe once every 15 years or so they put together a team that can go for it all but the idea they should be contending every year is a falsehood.

With that said their fans fukking SHOWOUT. We (maryland) stupidly played Michigan for our homecoming and Michigan fans were out there HEAVY. They easily had more fans than us and it was our homecoming. If they ever pull it off to be a perennial contender they will PRINT money. They should teach a master class in branding because they've done a hell of a job in branding themselves as a powerhouse when they're really not.

It's been over. At this point the question is who is gonna win: those who have decided that the goal posts should be "winning ten games and being a national program" or those who expect to win championships (Big Ten). A lot of people are banging that drum saying "well do you wanna go back to the Rich Rod days?" as if keeping Harbaugh is the only thing stopping us from that. He was hired to turn the program around and win championships. He hasn't even come close to that. It's a failure, admit it and decide what happens next.

End of the day he will prob never be fired. Maybe he steps down at some point to pursue the NFL again. It's time for Michigan fans to recognize something that Nebraska fans had to recognize, and Miami fans are learning, and UCLA basketball fans learned...the old days aren't coming back. It's over. It's been over.

This is a program that is capable of winning 8-10 games a year, never truly competing for the Big Ten title, and then losing in a bowl game. There is no hope for anything else until recruiting matches OSU's...and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I agree but osu wasn't that bad back then, they've been consistent and just got better over time. College football is kinda hard because it's not just coaching that matters, kids want to go to schools that will put them in a position to go to the NFL and make money and fukk hoes.

I think k more kids are this king outside the box now and all these schools have a chance to be great depending on who they recruit. I mean it doesn't matter who osu has as coach they all win.

Scott frost is struggling in Nebraska and scott frost had UCF looking like they're ready to complete for a title.

College football is just different man look what happened when Lamar Jackson left Louisville.

Put some respect on John Beilein's name. One of the most underrated coaches. He had Michigan in 2 National Championship games. He wasn't doing it with a roster full of 4 and 5 star recruits or McDonalds All Americans either.

Juwan Howard came into a great situation Beilein established. Michigan was terrible before Beilein.
