No the fukk she wouldn’t. She had a song nominated for an Oscar, and was starting to do movies. And I think her singing voice was better than Beyonce.
Beyonce is where she is because she is a great performer. I can’t think of one Beyonce song that hits to the point I say, I want to listen to Beyonce, BUT when she performs, I always want to watch.

Billboard released their list of the top 100 artists of all time. Beyoncé isn’t even top 30. She is not the end all; be all of the music industry.
Aaliyah was booked up until like 2008 with major movies, world tours, etc. I highly doubt she would be Mya status right now.
I don’t think he meant to imply that.. atleast that’s not what I got from it. Beyonce being the Beyonce of today has nothing to do with her sales or statistics (she was never the top seller of any specific time even during her commercial peak), hell britney’s spears first album outsold Beyonce’s entire discog. The phenomenon that she is was always based on her abilities as a captivating singer/entertainer, her work ethic and in the 10s, her conceptual albums/releases. I’d say Beyonce is bigger than her music.. She and her team set this foundation for herself from the very beginning of her being the ‘total package’ and simply expounded on it.

As far as movies goes, Beyonce, Mya and Aaliyah were proven to be terrible actresses. Aaliyah was in movies and so was Mya.
When talented people die we always say they would've been the biggest stars today and so and so would not be here, but face reality. Aaliyah would not have been the biggest star. Great vocals, but had lackluster performances and her acting was below average. And there wasn't much personality.

Y’all need to stop using Beyonce as the barometer for who the “biggest star.” Beyonce isn’t and has NEVER been the biggest star since she has debuted as a solo artist. If Beyonce is the only person you guys can measure Aaliyah against, the bar clearly isn’t that high. In that case, Aaliyah would have been just fine.
Y’all forget…Aaliyah was leaving Blackground and was about to sign with Rockafella right before she died. She would have have been working with prime Kanye and Just Blaze. And furthermore, Timbaland grew to be the hottest producer in pop music. Don’t think all them beats that went to Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado wouldn’t have gone to Aaliyah.
A lot of y’all nikkas need to stop and think for a second. Aaliyah died at 22. Beyonce is damn near 40. Beyonce has had about 17 years to grow and perfect her craft. Aaliyah died too young to really grow as an artist. But what we did get from her, is shytting ALL over Beyonce’s shyt.
