The Dark Knight really bit tf out of Michael Mann’s Heat. At least Nolan admitted that he got inspired by Heat but the basis, the cinematography, the character conflicts, the music score and color grading is all Heat. I still fukk with TDK but damn this made me lose a little respect for it.

Nolan put on a private screening of Heat for the whole cast and crew prior to filming TDK. Similarly, he also put on a private screening of Blade Runner for the whole cast and crew right before shooting Batman Begins. Both times he told them all "This is how we're going to shoot this movie." I read that he does for all of his movies. Shoot a movie with Nolan and get a free movie screening.
