I don't think Hangman's title run has been weak but it does feel like they didn't have anything concrete planned for him after the feud with Bryan Danielson so TK decided to do a quick monster heel, Hulk Hogan vs Earthquake style filler feud with Lance Archer.
The problem with the Hangman/Archer feud is that it feels like a filler feud. This goes back to TK needing help with the booking of this company because it is very obvious he doesn't give a fukk about this feud and is just using it as a stop gap before we get to Hangman vs whoever his next real serious opponent will be.

He should have been their Tommy Dreamer and kept up the title chase. It was clear they had nothing past the title win in terms of story when you book his first opponent as the best wrestler in the company.

Tony Khan books like Shad gonna take all his money back soon

Breh being demoted to TBS having a iron man match with The Big Bang Theory would make anybody go:

Here's the thing with Hangman. When dude started out, it was official. A drunk ass cowboy doing dope moves and showing up to AEW with no fukks to give because hangover. Sadly, he was away from the game because the birth of his child and I admire Tony for not being on some scorn WWE cult shyt about the whole ordeal. Yet, the grim reality is that the streets wanted Hangman to be the champ and the time was right around the time of his child being born.

Then Hangman comes back and we already know where this was going to lead. Then Hangman won the belt and the amount of damns left because it felt forced instead of organic.Like posters including this marsupial said, they really should had let Hangman chase the title for a bit instead of shooting his ass with the rocket.

Then the Bryne feud happens and meh...because it felt like a marketing ploy to get heads to watch TBS and their "free PPV events". The feud did not go anywhere.

Then the random match with Archer which makes no damn sense because "rating system:.

How can I possibly care for a wrestler that seems like he's just there instead of giving us legit Cowboy shyt. There is a reason why Vince be so hell bent on not giving folks the belt off GP.

  1. The man makes the belt not the other way around
  2. You got to get the casuals to tune in and not see your champ get chumped by a ex druggie
  3. Main events need main event caliber wrestlers and so far Page is dropping the ball
Bottom line, dude is not it and they seriously should had just let dude be on his underdog steez, instead of John Marston with a cheat code.

Good point. They could easily let folks give a shyt about the feud, but the grim reality is that Khan needs bookers that would filter his pill popping ideas so all of this makes some damn sense.

You could easily make folks give a shyt about Archer of all people trying to kill Hangman. Like make him drink non alcoholic beer or some shyt. Like some psychological warfare type of shyt to hide the fact that the booking is against the wall.

I dunno, it was always pretty normal to not have your top guy on the show every week until really into the late Attitude Era. Even in the AE, Austin was usually only in one segment either at the start or end of the show.

that’s not true. The whole raw shows were built around Austin. You may have not seen him fully until the end, but everything in the show was built around his stories. In AEW if I’m a fan of punk and I see punk in one segment he’s most likely not gonna be back or even talked about after.

It didn't help matters that Miro got hurt and Mox went to rehab. The booking for the month after Full Gear was wear as hell but it seems like they're getting back on track. That said, I don't see him holding on to the belt until Double Or Nothing.

TK's plans were thrown out the window when Mox went to rehab. Mox was slated to be Page's first feud with the title.

Sheamus’s reign’s are way worse

It's crazy how the second half of his WWE career (League of Nations, The Bar, OG to Ridge + Premiere League on NBC appearances) is more entertaining than the first half of his WWE career when he was the champ.

i never liked him, i also remember not watching Omega/Hangman, or the Bryan/Hangman matches cause i really just dont give a shyt about him,
my lasting thought of him was him being outside The Elite dressing room looking depressed, then teaming up with Dark Order and that was death.. show me a good Hangman Promo, this guy should not be world champion, has no damn charisma
Omega was goofy but at least he felt more like a champion and i enjoy his matches

I agree with his

just like Tommy is just kinda bland and boring but both are good underdogs

once the chase was over he’s just this bland champion now
